As salaam ‘alaikum
I have some homework which I need some help with.

Question:
With regards to Allaah rising above His throne is it mentioned in seven places in the qur'aan, Please state the soorah and aayah where these are mentioned

I found 5 and was wondering if someone can check if they are correct and also if you know of the other 2.
Even if you just mention which soorah they come in and I will try to find the ayaah because the teacher did this but I didn’t write all of them down :o

Baarak Allaahu feekum

1. al Araaf : 54
Indeed your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!

2. Ale-`Imraan :55
And (remember) when Allah said: "O 'Iesa (Jesus)! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you [of the forged statement that 'Iesa (Jesus) is Allah's son] of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allah) superior to those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad SAW, 'Iesa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), etc., or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Quran] till the Day of Resurrection. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute."

3. Yoonus:3
Surely, your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then Istawa (rose over) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty), disposing the affair of all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His Leave. That is Allah, your Lord; so worship Him (Alone). Then, will you not remember?

4. Faatir:10
Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory [and one can get honour, power and glory only by obeying and worshipping Allah (Alone)]. To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (the goodly words i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allah unless and until they are followed by good deeds), but those who plot evils, theirs will be severe torment. And the plotting of such will perish.

5. Al-Ma'aarij : 3-4
3. From Allah, the Lord of the ways of ascent.
4. The angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] ascend to Him in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years,

Ohh..

That's confusing now

In this article they also mention only 7

Firstly: Explicit declaration of His rising above His throne, this is mentioned in seven places in the Qur’an…
http://wayofthesalaf.wordpress.com/2007/06/12/allah-is-above-his-throne-distinct-from-creation/

That's interesting. The only thing I can think of is there are 7 verses that says "istawa (rose over) the Throne", and 2 verses that says: "istawa (rose over) towards the heaven". So the article is correct since it's referring to specifically "His rising above His throne".

Wallah hu 'alam.
