Does anyone have any software to rip audio files from a website? Like you click to play it and it just opens a page with a control panel but you cannot download it. Any software to rip them? Jzack Allaahu Khayra.

There are software to rip website content not specifically audio, like something as simple and free as "wget" or to some commercial ones like surfoffline (http://www.surfoffline.com/). Most of the software just download what ever is on the website, but in cases like special player using flash, or javascript, you may have to look at the html source or reverse engineer the flash player to get the audio.

I find using audio recording software quite straight forward. Like Total Recorder (http://www.highcriteria.com/), I do not think it is free but there are other free ones on the internet, just run a search. Simply install the software, load up the website as normal and play the audio file and simple press record.

Yes, this is another option you could do. Just be aware that you will not be getting the original file, if that is one of your requirements. It basically records what ever you're listening, you may have to turn off all other audio sources to avoid being recorded as well. I've been using total recorder for live lectures on paltalk and others with good results. For audios/videos on web page, I usually find the URL from the source and use "wget" to get them and use converters to convert them if necessary. I use the same technique for flash based player and youtube videos. That way you only get the audio/video that you want, not the other unnecessary files.
