Assalamoalaikum
I have been blessed with a daughter, Maryam. Both mother and daughter are fine, Alhamdolillah. She was born about the time of Friday prayers and I got the news when the muezzin was calling the azaan. I hope it is a good sign, of the permissible faal.
إِنِّي سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وِإِنِّي أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
I hope to make her an 'Aalima, Insha'Allah.

aamee....lol

i was with bro bilal in a tea shop. a half naked sufi beggar came (with a picture of full naked sufi). he started lecturing the beggar and it immediately went to the issue of isteghatha and i thought the people would beat the hell out of 'me' (because i dont have a beared down to navel...lol)

Ok.. so he was half-way there...

I hope he provided authentic references to the beggar, complete with detailed takhreej and comments of the Rijaal/Hadith scholars on the narrators.

I am also quite sure that Bilal's modus operandi while carrying out the Sunnahs about the newborn would be simple:

Now we do this. This is based on the following Hadith. Imam so and so called it to be Saheeh.

I am also certain that the girl's first joyride would be in an aircraft whose cockpit has been doctored by Bilal. It could be a Rafale. :P

since he (actually we) do carpet bombing (in arguments against heretics) i think it could not be a multi-role aircraft. it could be a B1, speed and size without stealth....lol. may Allah preserve brother bilal.

Assalamoalaikum
Jazakumullahu khair every one for your dua'as.
This is our first baby and the whole experiece has taught me many things. First, I always used to wonder why do mothers have more rights, respect and honour in Islam. Well, because we never go through what mothers go through. All that pain and effort. No wonder the mother is more attached to the child than father. Infact its still hard to believe I have become "Baba".

And it affirmed my belief in Allah. The whole process of the creation is a miracle. It is beyond human. I wonder if any of the atheists ever went through parent-hood!! I mean we had monthly ultrasounds, and it is miracle how a dot grows to a child. In the first ultrasound, all you can see is a pea-sized depression and then a subhuman form more like a worm and then....but i am sure you know all this. Subhan Allah. It is beyond words.

And it is wonder how quickly the baby adjusts to the outside world. I mean it is in water and darkness for 9 months. As soon as it comes out into the world, it has no problems adjusting to the light and air. Plus, it needs no course in knowing how to and where from get its feed. Subhanallah.

And it makes you respect your parents more. A professor I was taking a course with commented "Now that you are becoming a father, you will know how important parents are." I found that to be true.

I pray those who have not been blessed with this blessing, are blessed this favor soon.

تبارك الله أحسن الخالقين

PS: Thanx for pulling my leg, kamran. I was in the skies with delight, you managed to bring me back a little. (wink). Kidding.

Ibn Imam, it is a wonder that all you have to do is wear less clothes, look dirty, wear a few amulets, carry a poster and get free tea. Easy, isn't it? Good old wahabis, we have none of that sort here in KSA. Alhamdolillah.

Allaah bless akh Bilaal.

May she be to you, as Faatimah ('alayha salaam) was to her father ('alayhi afdhalu as-salaat was-salaam).

Indeed the joy of recieving a new baby is overwhelming... I remember when I first laid eyes on my new baby sister (the one in my avatar, although she's a bit bigger now), I was sort of lost for words. It had to sink in for a little while that I had become a big sister for the fourth time :D, but afterwards she became the apple of my eye. And as the days go by, I just keep loving her more and more.

May baby Maryam be a source of joy for you in the dunya and aakhirah, ameen.
