Quick question. When a hadith is described with a sahih isnad does this mean there is something wrong with the matn of the hadith? Also can such a hadith be used as evidence?

As Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,

If I remember correctly from my classes in Mustalah al-Hadith, if a hadith is graded as ‘fi Isnaad as Sahih’ it does not automatically mean that there is a fault in the matn. It just means that the Isnaad has been checked and it Sahih, yet the matn might be mahfoodh or might have some issues like being Shaadh or Maqloob etc.

And Allah knows best.
