excuse my ignorance, do mac operating systems support arabic and arabic programs such as makata ash-shamilah? and other islamic programs usually supported by windows?

Mac support Arabic language just fine, but Windows applications will not install in to Mac OS X or any other Mac OS. You need to run a virtual machine inside Mac which you can install Windows XP on, then you can install any Windows application and use it on a Mac copmuter.
