URGENT ADVICE REQUIRED

Assalamu Alaikum,

I need to know the answer to this question please.

Does anybody know the Islamic ruling on somebody wearing Islamic T-Shirts, with the words Muslim or Islam written on shirts, in English. Is this permissible?

I ask this in relation to issues like going to the toilet, putting it in the laundry etc.

Jazah kallah khairun. I've read the fatwa from Islamqa.com before.

But that doesnt answer this question, because in that Islamqa.com fatwa it doesnt say which language Allah was written in on that shirt.

I asked a brother from al ghurabaa's website, and he said there is nothing from the sacred texts when Muslim or Islam is written in English, so it would be okay to wear them.

So the question is, is it allowed to wear T-Shirts with the words Muslim or Islam written on them in English? I don't know for sure.

Alhamdulillah, I got a reply to my question about T-Shirts from Islamtoday.com run by Shaikh Salman Al-Awdah:

Is it allowed to wear T-Shirts with the words 'Islam' or 'Muslim' written on them in English? Is it allowed to enter the toilet wearing these shirts? I saw on Islamqa.com the scholar condemning somebody wearing the name of 'Allah' on a shirt because it would be wrong to enter the toilet with that on, the fatwa didn't state which language 'Allah' was written in, on that shirt. Jazah kallah khairun for your advice.

Al-Salâm `Alaykum wa Rahmah Allah wa Barakâtuh.



We do not see any legal prohibition against wearing a shirt containing the word “Islam” or the word “Muslim” written on it.



These words do not take the ruling of a name of Allah.
