names for boys:

Yusuf
Isa
Hishaam
Marwaan
Maalik
Aseel
As'ad
Bilaal
Fahad
Labeeb
Raashid
Su'uud
Adeey

^^sorry for the sp kind of spelling, just to make sure that people get the pronuncation right.

i like more of the rare/special names, that's what i really wanted when i asked for girl's names. maryam, aasiya, etc. are really nice mashallah but too common.

Yeah same. Most people stick to the traditional ones though even if there's already 10 kids with the same name in one family.

Khayriyyah's nice. I don't know anyone named that.

Ayla in Turkish means "Halo" or the Corona of the Sun.

I think Marjân (ãóÑúÌóÇä) is a nice name. It means coral and its mentioned in Sûrat ar-Rahmân.

'Alaykum as-Salam;

At the end of his book 'Tasmiyat al-Mawlud,' Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd compiled a pretty good list of appropriate names for both boys and girls.

Girls' names start on p. 30: http://saaid.net/Warathah/bkar/b6.zip
