only the sunni mujahideen of chechnia are believers but let me make one thing clear:
the word wahhabi in this region and in south asia has a different meaning from the arabian peninsula;
a wahhabi is almost always a "hanafi" who promotes or fights jihad and has common cause with other madhabs because there is unity in jihad.
consider afghanistan under taliban. they ruled the land seeking counsel from both hanafi and hanbali (al qaida) shayks.
infact the taliban were labelled as wahhabis just because they study imam ibn taymiyyahs kitabul jihad!!!
in central asia and south asia regardless of which madhab you are educated in if you object or denounce bidah you are labelled a "wahhabi"
so the mujahideen who are fighting the russians they are wahhabi because of jihad and that they reject sufism - they have no connection to the kafir wahhabi king fahd!
