:) There you guys go listing the infamous contemporary qurraa. I especially avoided my favourites such as al-Shatiri, al-Ghamidi and Mishari so we can hear/see other Qurraa, other styles and qiraa'at, but no harm inshaa'Allah!

May Allaah Reward Him Immensely. AameenAmeen ya Rabb. He's incredible masha'Allah, you can see how bustling and popular the masjid is despite it being inbetween narrow residential streets. People actually make trips to the masjid from random areas (the same with Masjid 'Amr ibn al-'Aas & Masjid al-Salam where shaykh Ibn Jibreen & Sh. Yasir lead taraweeh respectively).

But I have to say, the Imams around Egypt are all exceptional - there was one very small & discreet local masjid we prayed in once, and tabarak'Allah the recitation was amazing, breathtaking actually that it just made you hang on to every word and ayah (and this was just a tiny 'ground floor of 'imarah' masjid where the jama'ah probably didn't exceed 30 max.)

Its great to hear such a variety of Qurra' and not just the "household names" -

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Egyptian Qurra' - the likes of Dr Ahmed Nuaina, Mustafa Ismael, Minshawi and Shahat families...theres plenty of clips on Youtube etc but I'm not sure how to share them like the brother and sister have above.

Quick question if its ok? I'm not trying to be funny but why do the crowd sway from side to side when listening to Qiraat? I've noticed this alot amongst the Indian-Subcontinent peoples??? Amongst other things

He is around 22 or 23 years old, was raised in Sa'uudia I believe up until his high school years then returned to Egypt. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A soorah from the Qur’aan containing thirty verses will intercede for a man so that he will be forgiven. It is the soorah Tabaarak Alathi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk].”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2891; Abu Dawood, 1400; Ibn Maajah, 3786.

Al-Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan hadeeth. It was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah in Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 22/277, and by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 3053.

I absolutely love Shaykh Abu Hajar Al-Iraqis recitation. [May Allah subhanna wa ta'ala grant his release]. Especially Surah Al-Anfal.

[I'm not posting it because I'm sure it's been posted previously in this thread].

I was teaching at an Islamic Summer Camp, and there was a 8/9 year old boy in my class, whom I found later was a Hafiz of the Quran, MashaAllah, his recitation was absolutely beautiful.

Major Qaris I know and like have ordinary talking voice.

Reciting is quite different from singing. It is unfortunate that some reciters try to sing Qur'an instead of reciting.
