Salaam 'Alaykoum

Somebody posted this on a forum. Is this hadith authentic?
It's about having children in paradise.
I translated it from dutch to english so some of the wording can be different.

Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri narrated that the Prophet (saws) said: ''If a believer wants a child then the pregnancy and the arrival of it will only take one hour in possession, then the child becomes the age which the believer wants". [Narrated by At-tirmidhi no. 2487, al-Daarimi no. 2712, Ahmad no. 11339, Ibn Maajah no.432. See also Saheeh al-Jaami', 6649]

Wow; I never knew of that Hadeeth. I'm also interested to know if that Hadeeth is authentic.

'Alaykum as-Salam;

As you yourself referenced above, it is in 'Sahih al-Jami'' of al-Albani. Additionally, it was graded hasan by at-Tirmidhi, Ibn al-Qayyim, and Muqbil al-Wadi'i.

Jazakalahu Khairan.
Yeah. I know i referenced sahih al jami in the post but i don't have the book so i couldn't verify if it's really in there.
I wanted to verify it because i noticed this hadith on a forum after i saw this topic. http://forums.islamicawakening.com/showthread.php?t=8167
It's kind of a proof that there will be sex in paradise.

''If a believer wants a child then the pregnancy and the arrival of it will only take one hour in possession, then the child becomes the age which the believer wants"

This is achievable here in this world right..?

So gave reference from Sunan at-tirmidhi, no. 2487, but when i checked it out it was a completely different hadith. Can you tell me is the hadeeth from Abwabus Sifatil Qiyamat?

You're missing the point. It means (whether or not it is authentic) to say that true believers will be given whatever they want, it has nothing to do with paradise.

What I heard, I think it was from Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, is that IF they want children, that's how it would happen. But they won't.

''Some said that there would be children if the man wants them, but the pregnancy and birth would take just one hour. Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If the believer wants a child in Paradise, the pregnancy and delivery will take only an hour, then the child will be the age that the man wants.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, no. 2487; al-Daarimi, no. 2712; Ahmad, no. 11339; Ibn Maajah, no. 4329). And Allaah knows best.''

''Whatever the person desires when in Paradise, he gets it. The person might then desire to have children as narrated by Ibn Majah from Abu Said Al-Khudri, he said that the Prophet said: "When the believer desires to have a child in Paradise, this child's carriage and delivery gets done in one hour just as the believer desires". Ibn Hibban reported in another narration: "The delivery of this child and his becoming young as he wishes all this gets done in one hour".''

''The scholars disagreed on whether or not the person can have a child in Paradise and on whether or not women in Paradise deliver at all. Some said there are children in Paradise based upon the previous Hadeeth. Others said there are no children in Paradise because the Hadeeth does not say expressingly that the person gets the child. It actually stipulates a condition which is "if he desires" and he (the person in Paradise) does not desire this at all. This is what Ishaq Ibn Rahawayih narrated from Al Bukhari.

Ahmad and Al Hakem reported from Laqit a Hadith in which it is narrated: "O Prophet of Allah do we have good pious wives in it (i.e Paradise). The Prophet said: "The pious wives are for the pious husbands. You get pleasure with them in Paradise as you used to get pleasure with them in This Life with one exception that there are no children.''

The authenticity of this hadeeth of al-Khudri is mentioned previously in this topic by others.

And Allah knows beste.
