Assalaamu Alaikum,
Can anyone recommend a good software for kids to learn arabic? Nothing too basic or boring.
I am looking into the Arabic Sounds and Pictures v2, but am not sure if it will be too easy for the children. I want a program that teaches arabic words with fun animation, but doesn't just stop at e.g. 10 words per section, and then within a few weeks, there is nothing new to learn.

One of the best ways for Kids learning Arabic is cartoon videos for kids.
They are very interesting, informational and educational.
I am not referring to Adam's World btw. I am referring to Fath al-Andalus (about Tariq b. Ziyad), al-Fatih, Asad 'ayn jalut (about Qutuz), saqr al-qawqaz (about Shamil) and Alp Arsalan... Excellent quality videos and a great source of entertainment for kids. I enjoy watching them myself!
There are other CDs for kids such as the stories of the Prophets by Safeer and Turath and both of them are good.
There is Masu'at al-Tifl al-Muslim with excellent learning programs and games for kids.
Kids love it and learn from it. It definitely lessens the burden on the parents.
And if you make your kids watch these cartoon videos every day, they probably will pick up a lot of Arabic, more than you can imagine, cuz Kids are amazingly like sponges!

Although, the one I bought is I think version 3 or 4 containing 4 CDs.
I went through them and they are excellent. Kids love them and learn alot.
The only problem is (if some find it a problem) that these CDs have some Nasheeds that kids really love, and if you do not supervise them, kids might get hocked on nasheeds instead of learning.
