Can ibn Rushd be clasified as Muslim?

Assalaam'ualykum,

Is it true that ibn Rushd and the famous philosophers that claimed Islaam, said that prophethood which declared Heaven , Hell etc we were in fact lies to the masses, which the prophets new about!?

This is a wacky saying, but how true is it?

Allahu a'lam, from what I have read it was Ibn Sina who said that, and not Ibn Rushd. Because of that (and I think some other things too) the 'ulama declared Ibn Sina a kafir murtadd. I think Ibn Sina was originally an Isma'ili Batini too.
