    Need explanation.....

Ibn Taymiyya and Qadi Shawkani quote the following hadith: 'Abd Allah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with Him, reported that our Beloved Prophet, (May Allah bless him and grant him peace), stated:

"If you ever find yourselves stranded alone in a desolate place or jungle, then say, 'O servants of Allah! Help me, Allah have mercy on you.'"

[Al-Kalim al-Tayyib, page 69, by ibn Taymiyya, and Qadi Shawkani in Tufhat ad-Dhakireen, page 130. Ibn Sunni, Imam Bazaar, Hafidhh al Hasamim and Imam Nawawi all quote this hadith also in their various books.]

Any commentary on the authenticty & its explanation???

there is a narration by ibn Abbas radiyallahu anhu mentioning that those slaves of Allah are the Angels.

insha Allah I will get it for you later, unless someone beats me to it.

If I put my salafi hat on, I would say that this is shirk, as it is asking from other than Allah.

If I go back to my normal setting I would say its intercession, which is allowed, and there is no problem with, as long as some key points are considered.

    Ahmedjbh,

I hope you are fine. I had raised some questions to some posts of yours in the past. However, I did not get any response which is predictable, considering my miniscule presence.

From what it clearly appears, the way you could correctly understand this Hadith fell prey to some hat illusion. This particular case demands that a hat be put on the heads of the members of some Muslims who incidently fall among the those who try to follow the Deen as it should be followed.

On the other hand, the normal setting your refer to needs upgradation. It would be better that you do not engage in such misadventures based on "I woulds" and other displays of your wonderful knowledge-base and consult a scholar instead to remove your doubts instead of issuing verdicts.

PS. I hope my insolence towards idiomatic English is not deemed blasphemous.

I can't seem to remember the arabic text, could someone post the exact wording of the arabic text?

    reply to ahmedjbh

no it wouldn't be shirk, because angels are present and are able to help by the will of Allah, they are just invisible to us.

while the dead are not present with us, nor is there evidence that Allah gave them the ability to help us.
they are dead dunya wise, they are alive a barzakhi life, which is different than dunya life.

What about the Prophet, He is Alive and can hear us speak, and he can make dua for us as well. The Prophet could help us through his dua, right???
Ibn Jawzi said, "I have advised both follower and leader in those terms" Colleagues! You are adherents and followers of our madhab. Your greatest Imam is Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, may Allah have mercy on him, who said, under the lash of ordeal, 'How can I say what was never said?' Therefore beware of innovating in his madhab what is not from him!!!."

trees, rocks, elephants praise Allah all the time and they are witnesses to our actions why not ask the plant downstairs?

my question to you lot still remains: What exactly do you define as shirk?

he is alive a barzakhi life

and what do you mean by him being able to hear us speak?
are you saying he is all-hearing?
or are you saying that he can hear the one who speaks to him next to his grave?

as for him making duaa for us if we ask him to, you have to bring evidence for that.
