Question 2 rakat after witr?

Asalamualikum

Can someone please advise me with if there is a salaat after the witr.

I have come across 2 hadeeths; one is to make witr the last prayer andthe other hadeeth in saheeh muslim stating that the Prophet (saw) prayed 2 rakat after the witr.

which is more accurate or how does one reconcile between these 2 hadeeths

If the Muslim prays Witr then he wants to pray qiyaam al-layl after that, he should pray them two by two, and he does not have to repeat Witr.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded that the last prayer offered at night should be Witr, but this command is in the sense that is it mustahabb, not obligatory.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz was asked:

If I have prayed Witr at the beginning of the night, then I get up to pray qiyaam at the end of the night, how should I pray?

He replied:

If you have prayed Witr at the beginning of the night then Allaah enables you to get up at the end of the night, then pray whatever you can two by two – without Witr, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There cannot be no two Witrs in one night.”
And it was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to pray two rak’ahs after Witr sitting down. The reason for that – and Allaah knows best – was to show the people that it is permissible to pray after Witr.

As far as I know the final prayer of the night should be odd, due to the hadeeth of the prophet.
I've never heard of two after witr anyway.

It's not Haraam to pray after Witr AFAIK, is it?

Ibn Al Qayyim Rahimahullah in Za'd Al Ma3ad said that the Prophet peace be upon him Always used to pray 2 rakat sitting down after witr first rakat reading surah al zalzalah and second reciting surah al kafirun....so this is proof that the order to make witr ur last is reccomended...so there is nothing with praying even number of rakat after witr as long as you don't make two witrs in one night wich the Prophet peace be upon him forbade...this was explained in "ish" post baarak Allahu feeha

Yakhi, this is only one Hadith. One cannot make a ruling based on a single Hadith if there are other Ahadith. As for the reading in Witr Salah: 1st Rakah Surah al-'Ala, 2nd Al Kafiroon, 3rd Al Ikhlas.

And about 2 after Witr, I simply do not know.
