Question regarding Ramadhan: Should one continue fasting the first day if it's not the first day??? Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
dear brothers and sisters I've a very important question which I ask on behalf of a brother:
He started fasting today, because of the "moonsighting" in Saudi Arabia, but today he became convinced that Ramadhan in fact starts on Saturday.
What should the brother do:
1) Continue fasting today (which means that he must also celebrate 'Id one day earlier than that what is right in his conviction).
2) Braking the fast of today and making a new Niyyah to start fasting tomorrow.
