Burning Flags
asalamu alaykum
inshallah if anyone can elighten me on this issue.
i want to know if its allowed or not to burn flags of the state you live in, as some people who ive spoken to say its a form of political dawah and commanding the good and forbidding the evil.
but i dont see how that is. i think it just makes things worser and move people away from islam.
some other ignorant people would say its a form of terrorising your enemies, and if you strike fear in their heart youll be rewarded etc.....i dont neeed to carry on as u get the jist.
also theyve got out a new law not to burn flags at demonstrations.
-
what about the burning the flag of a country you dont live in.
-
Do any of the scholars or mujahideen do this?
حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل وعلى الله توكلنا

Utaybi i think you answered your own question in your own post. Good points. Abu Durrah say its not illegal in this country, regardless Utaybis point still applies.
The harms far outweigh its good - if there are any that is -
-
I have heard some brothers say that burning a flag is equivlent to mocking their gods, which the Qur'an speaks against. I think this is something which the scholars should be asked about.
-
subhanallah, do u know why the brothers say this mujahid?
-
All i know is that its about rejecting nationalism
around the world people do it for different reasons

the prophet (saw) said call the people to islam and give them the glad tidings and do not make them run away.
now what non-muslim after seeing his country of his flag burnt and seeing muslims acting like hooligans would want to come to islam after that?
dont you see whatever the prophet(saw) saw was bad for the dawah he would leave it out because he didnt want to ruin the reputation of the dawah.
rather Allah(swt) guided him to the best styles and means to address the people, to command the good and forbid the evil. etc....

Flags and effigies. I've always wondered who makes those effigies? Do people make a living out of this?!
-
flag burning is symbolic of free speech and is widely understood to be a form of protest against a government's policy wether foreign or domestic.
Zionism is to the Palestinian what Nazism was to the Jews
