YouTube - Does Hoor in the Quran mean women? - Yasir Qadhi
in this lecture. Sh Yasir Qadhi discusses briefly regarding the apologist "Progressives", who say that Hoor al-ayn are not the female virgin companions in Jannah- rather they are white luscious grapes !
Can someone direct me to an article, which shows the viewpoint of the Progressives who say that Hoor al-ayn are not maidens, rather they are white luscious grapes! ?
Secondly, has anyone yet written a rebuttal of this
[perhaps, this stance doesn't even befit writing a rebuttal : ) ]

the Quran says what the hoor-al-ayn are. these people are just idiots.there is no reason to even write a rebuttal for these idiots.they know they are wrong they just want to be accepted by the kuffar.they are kissing the kufar (edited) so much they are forgetting Allah and taken out of the fold of Islam. Most of these "modernists" have apostated and are too blind to realize it or in denial.

They try and put out the light of Allah with their mouths. However the light of Allah will continue to glow even if the unbelievers hate it.

I dont have an article but i heard that this viewpoint is from an opinion that the dotting on 꾄 ÇáÚíä was in the wrong place and if dots are placed in other places it spells something which in Aramaic, the dominant language surrounding the arabian peninsula (sham etc) at the time, means while luscious grapes. So these people argue that not only are the dots wrong but also they're indirectly trying to show the Quran has Aramaic origins
some "progressives" must have picked up on this put it into their belief system

Re: Hoor al-ayn not female companions - rather white luscious grapes !
yeh found the guy who proposed this theory. some clown named christoph luxenburg.
from the following link - The Virgins and the Grapes: the Christian Origins of the Koran
We begin from the term ´huri,´ for which the Arabic commentators could not find any meaning other than those heavenly virgins. But if one keeps in mind the derivations from Syro-Aramaic, that expression indicated ´white grapes,´

yeah, this does not even befit a rebuttal !
I was just inquiring whether someone has written on this or not.

..ok but i have a question...
what about the muslim man who does not desire that?there was a brother in my community that asked this question at a halaqa and the sheihk said that you get what you desire in jannah.and the brother seemes sincer.now i am curious. if a brother does not desire the hoor al ayn and he only wants the wife he had in this life, does he get his wish?

The theory by necessity ignores the virtually the entire body of historical evidence surrounding the revelation of the Qur'an, the understanding of those whom accepted it during and after its time - such as the mere fact that no one understood "hoor al-ayn" to mean "white grapes," whether from Shaam, Arabia, etc.
Most attempts to dismiss the Qur'an as a divinely revealed text, I notice, make equally unreasonable claims, reminiscent of the most flimsy of conspiracy theories. It reminds of of what Shaykh Jamaal Zarabozo wrote, concerning his journey to Islam as a teenager. His study of the many conflicting and divergent orientalist theories trying to discredit the Qur'an actually helped to convince him of its authenticity:
In any case, the plethora of their different views concerning the Prophet was a sign to me that something unfathomable to those authors had occurred. This was all evidence to me that there was really something to the Quran, as otherwise just could have just discounted it as a trivial work, not worth the effort of refuting or discussing. It actually got me even more interested in the Quran. This is something that you will see again later: The works that should have dissuaded me from further pursuing the Quran made me more convinced that I need to pursue it further.

Look sorry to be direct, but ultimately Jannah is something Allah has resrved for the believers and its better than we can imagine.
Allah is unlimited, his bounty is unlimited his perception like wise.
Whatever he has in store, we will not grumble about.
It will be beyond out wildest imagination, if you recall the hadith about the last believer to be taken out of jahannam and into Jannah, how even a tree will keep him enthralled for ages.
I loves star wars when I was a kid, I know whatever Allah has for us will be better than any man made landscape from a film, more appealing than any gadget, whatever he gives us, face it we wont metaphorically ask for a receipt.
Suffice encouragement is the Lord of the Earth will be pulling out the stops on this one, and in comparison he considers this dunya less important than a gnats wing, now imagine that
