Sheikh A'tiAllah, I assume they refer to Louis A'tiallah? That will be a silencer for those who called him a fictious "Internet " Sheikh.

Default al-Qaeda video slams Iran, "Crusader" war

Al Qaeda video slams Iran, "Crusader" war

DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda has issued a video marking the Sept. 11 attacks, in which deputy group leader Ayman al-Zawahri accuses Iran of taking part in a Western "Crusader" war against Islam, Al Jazeera television said on Monday.

The video also shows apparently recent footage of senior al Qaeda figure Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, casting doubt on a report that he was killed on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan last month.

In a segment on the video aired by al Jazeera, Zawahri attacked Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, questioning the Islamic Republic's anti-Western stand.

"The (leader of Iran) collaborates with the Americans in occupying Iraq and Afghanistan and recognises the puppet regimes in both countries, while he warns of death and destruction to anyone who touches an inch of Iranian soil," Zawahri said.

Al Qaeda, a militant Sunni Islamist group, often criticises predominantly Shi'ite Iran, which has good relations with Afghanistan's anti-Taliban leaders and Iraq's Shi'ite-led government.

"Not even one Shi'ite authority -- whether in Iraq or elsewhere -- has issued a fatwa (religious edict) obligating jihad and taking up of arms against the American Crusader invaders in Iraq and Afghanistan," Zawahri said.

Another segment of the video showed Abu al-Yazid commenting on the resignation of Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf, announced on August 18 -- six days after a Pakistani official said Abu al-Yazid had been killed in clashes with Pakistani forces near the Afghan border.

Abu al-Yazid, also known as Abu Saeed al-Masri, said on the video that Musharraf was "humilited by God" for betraying Islam.

"So here he is ... finding no option but to resign from the presidency," he said.

Yazid, believed to be commander of al Qaeda operations in Afghanistan, is an Egyptian who served time in jail with Zawahri after the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1981.

An Al Jazeera editor told Reuters the network received a copy of the 90-minute video, which he said was a compilation, including new material.

    “If the
inferno of this world is what I must plunge into,

To be worthy of glancing into the Face of my True King,
Then fought will be the false-gods, till I am ashes,
To Him we all belong, but He buys only me and those who plunge in along with me,
By the Lord! With my slavery to the True King I will remain, or let my bones turn to charcoal,
So away with these dates! I see Rivers and Gardens in these flames”

Al-Qaeda Chief Al-Zawahiri Viciously Slams Iran

Neo-Cons to have a harder time pushing terrorist link after harsh rebuke

    Paul Joseph Watson

Neo-Cons are going to have a harder time equating the Iranian threat with 9/11 as the anniversary of the attack on America nears if the latest Al-Qaeda propaganda tape is to be believed. In a new broadcast, Al-Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri viciously attacks Tehran as “collaborators” with the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“The leadership in Tehran is collaborating with the Americans in their occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan,” Zawahiri said in the extract broadcast by Al-Jazeera today, reports AFP.

“It recognises the subservient (to Washington) governments of these two countries, while at the same time pledging death and destruction to any state which dares touch Iranian soil,” added the Egyptian deputy to Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
Speaking to reporters in Amman, the Jordanian capital, McCain said he and two Senate colleagues traveling with him continue to be concerned about Iranian operatives “taking al-Qaeda into Iran, training them and sending them back.”

Pressed to elaborate, McCain said it was “common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran, that’s well known. And it’s unfortunate.” A few moments later, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, standing just behind McCain, stepped forward and whispered in the presidential candidate’s ear. McCain then said: “I’m sorry, the Iranians are training extremists, not al-Qaeda.”
In reality, the two are arch enemies, Iran being a Shiite theocracy and Al-Qaeda being a Sunni Muslim organization.

But that has not stopped further claims of a relationship between Tehran and Al-Qaeda, made notably by the 9/11 Commission as well as other Neo-Con talking heads.

The build-up to the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 was similarly preceded by relentless claims on behalf of top Bush administration officials that Saddam Hussein was in league with Al-Qaeda.

In reality, “Saddam Hussein was distrustful of al-Qaeda and viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime, refusing all requests from al-Qaeda to provide material or operational support,” according to a CIA report released in September 2006.

The report concluded that there were no formal links between Saddam Hussein and any Al-Qaeda leaders before the 2003 invasion.

With the anniversary of 9/11 just around the corner, we can expect Neo-Cons and Bush administration officials to continue to invoke the 9/11 victims as a pretext for propagandizing for a war with Iran - despite the fact that Al-Qaeda, the very group the U.S. government claims was responsible for 9/11, has now publicly scorned Tehran.

    Al-Qaeda video rounds on Iran

Al-Qaeda has released a new video accusing Iran of giving way to the US in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The new footage, released three days before the seventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, also attacked Lebanese, Pakistani and Afghan leaders.

Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda's deputy leader, and other senior al-Qaeda commanders, focussed on what they called the "Iranian-Crusade alliance" saying the Muslim Umma [nation] was being targetted.

In the one-hand-half-hour video, al-Zawahiri said that the Muslim Umma was facing a military, ideological and media crusade by the Iranian "coalition", which had given way to the US, by letting them invade Afghanistan and Iraq.

Al-Qaeda's deputy also said Hezbollah and its leaders did not gain victory in the war against Israel in 2006, saying that outcome had been beneficial to Israel.

"The most bizarre and astounding thing is that Hassan Nasrallah [Hezbollah's leader] celebrates a victory every year.

"What victory?" he said. "Retreating 30 miles backwards?" he said.

    Kabul government 'weaker'

Al-Zawahiri also accused Lebanon's leaders of following in the footsteps of Washington and its "agent Arab regimes".

The video called for a continued jihad (struggle) to liberate Palestine and re-establish the Muslim Umma, and denounced the positions adopted by the Muslim and Arab states against the siege imposed on the Palestinians - namely the closure of Gaza Strip's border crossing points.

The tape said Afghanistan's government was getting weaker and frailer and that the former Pakistani president, Pervez Musharraf, had "swallowed the fruit of his betrayal" by resigning in August.

The video message said the jihad in Iraq was still up-and-running and showed interviews with an Iraqi scholar describing the country's Awakening Councils, which turned against al-Qaeda and joined sides with US-led and Iraqi troops, as "treacherous", and "doomed".

One al-Qaeda leader, Abu Yahia Al-Liby, also praised "victories" by the Islamic Courts Union in Somalia, where the network claimed the number of young fighters was surging.
