Deadly blast hits Pakistan city
At least 12 people have been killed in a powerful explosion in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore, police say.
A number of people have also been injured in the blast that hit an office of the federal police, reports say.
There are reports of a second explosion in a different part of the city, but no further details are available.
State-run television showed pictures of a damaged multi-storeyed building and burning cars at the site of the blast near the federal police office.
The police said the explosion hit the Federal Investigation Agency in Lahore.
"The building is badly damaged. Fire is raging," witness Tariq Saeed told Reuters news agency.
"Bodies are being taken out of the building. I have seen five," he said.
Last week, four people were killed and 14 injured in a suicide bombing at a naval college in Lahore.
Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, has not been a frequent target, although 19 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack near the High Court in January.
The country has been fighting an Islamist insurgency in its northern provinces and its major cities and military are frequently targeted by bombers.
Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed by a suicide bomber in Rawalpindi in December.

According to latest figures more than 32 persons died, having no connection with war against terror. Amongst critically injured, 40 students of a school are also included.

lal majid has come back to haunt the pakistan state..they were well warned what would happen. Play with fire expect to get burnt. Musharaf scarificed his muslim brothers/sisters to appease the amerikans and now they are getting the blowback
Allah is the only law giver

There is no difference between those responsible for Lal Masjid and these explosions that we are seeing at funerals, outside police stations etc. because both cases are not sanctioned by Islam and do help the cause of Islam and muslims.
This leads to the conclusion that the hand behind both is probably the same.
The one gaining from these recent spike in attacks is Musharraf and his support for US war on Islam.

what goes around comes around.eg bloodshed at lal masjid, continous bombing of tribal areas, and swat, support to americans to kill thousands in Afghanistan.so what is this in comparsion to all that?according to the taliban they are at war with the pakstain government, so the federal building is a major symbol of the support of the musharaf government.so according to war, this would be a legitimate target.just like when america and britain drop bombs on iraq, and destroy buildings and tons of civilans homes leaving them homlless, killing many at the same time.but the excuse is colletral damage.so when the taliban react why is it such a hoe ha, especially when they are attacking a target which according to them is legitiment.i ask you fredrick is this not colletral damage?i am not saying i agree with the bombings, im just trying to open up the other side of the argument

First of all, many of us - if not all of us - are cautious about what is reported in the kaaffir Media, since we do not trust them.
If the reports are substantiated - from a reliable usually Muslim source - then we do not rush to judge or condemn, since even then we probably do not know all the circumstances.
If we do know the circumstances (which is often not the case), then we would seek to apply certain criteria to what was done, deriving from Quran and Sunnah alone, to make a personal judgment, knowing, accepting, that our personal judgment may be in error, and that only Allah azza wa jal truly knows.
As often, there might be some disagreement among the Muslims over certain matters and certain events.
Thus, some Muslims might agree with or approve of certain events, while others might disagree with or disapprove of them, and some of us might even start arguing over the matter on forums such as this!
