Dentist 'had Islamic dress code'
Asalaaamu alaikam for those who do not know this brother some information on the brother before you read this article. Omer Butt mashallah may Allah swt reward him with jannah has given hundrerds and thousands of pounds in bail money to release so call "Muslim terrorists". Since he has been giving bail for so many brothers and sister’s judges have labled him Al Qaeda’s bails man.
Also since he has been giving bail to release so many brothers and sisters from jail the police on a regular basis have raided his home and put false charges on him. Time and time again he has been cleared once it has gone to court. In one case they accused him of running over a police officer when clear cctv evidence showed the police smashing his car window and dragging him out of his car and arresting him, but the cctv also proved that he never run over any police officers.
please make dua for him
Dentist 'had Islamic dress code' |
Dr Butt regards himself as 'a Muslim first and a dentist second' | A dentist told Muslim patients he would only treat them if they wore Islamic dress, a disciplinary panel has ruled. Dr Omer Butt, of Prestwich, Greater Manchester, ordered two women to wear head scarves before he would see them, the hearing was told.
The professional conduct committee of the General Dental Council (GDC) will now decide whether this impaired Dr Butt's fitness to practise.
Dr Butt worked at the Unsworth Smile Clinic from April 2005 to June 2007. 'Rewards offered'
The GDC committee found: "Your evidence was that you regard yourself as a Muslim first and a dentist second, and it is clear that you were using your position as a dentist to seek to influence patients as to non-clinical issues.
"You have explained that you had a moral and religious obligation to persuade other Muslims to comply with Islamic requirements.
"You admitted that you would offer rewards to some patients who complied with the dress code.
"The committee concludes that these actions are more consistent with a person who has gone beyond mere persuasion or request and is seeking to impose a dress code."
This is the second time the dentist has appeared before a disciplinary committee over his stance on traditional Muslim dress.
In September 2007, Dr Butt received an admonition from the GDC after being found guilty of discriminating against a female patient by refusing to treat her unless she wore "appropriate Islamic dress". |

Re: Dentist 'had Islamic dress code'
MashaAllah, this brother knows Hisbah far better than us.
May Allah reward him and keep him safe.
Disclaimer: My opinion about anything is just that - an opinion that is not Islamically binding.

True, but do you really believe it's OK to refuse to treat a patient because they don't wear hijab?!

Re: Dentist 'had Islamic dress code'
Well he knows it would probably be against the law to not treat females, so at least he is trying to make them cover infront of him. Each of us have to fear Allaah the best we can.
May Allaah make it easy for him ameen, keep us up to date with his situation,

Re: Dentist 'had Islamic dress code'
Alternatively, if it was the other way round - where he went to a Muslim GP, and they refused to treat him because of the length of his beard or refused to see him in future unless it was lengthened, would he be so understanding?

Re: Dentist 'had Islamic dress code'
Isn't it the right of a Muslim that we establish the veracity of this claim that he forced Muslim women to wear hijab in his presence, before passing judgement on him?

We are comparing chalk and cheese (so to speak).
He is commending to virtue, in someone who is essentially Muslim; while the hypothesised doctor refusing treatment due to a person's Islamicness (i.e. beard/jilbaab) displays a hostility towards a person's religion (if it can be demonstrated that X wore beard etc. on established religious grounds ) - not just culture. (Which would open the door to a different cause of action)
There is no Islamic legal opinion which gives women a right to remove the hijab in front of non-mahrems in the ordinary course of dealings.
This is if we accept the plaintiff's (or prosecution - if a criminal case) submission that his words or acts were, as the media claim, discriminatory (on whatever ground - probably sexual or religious discrimination) - which a good lawyer wouldn't accept!
Bottom line:
Sarkozy says off. Omer Butt says on. Who will the kafir courts support?
Not a foregone conclusion inshallah.

Re: Dentist 'had Islamic dress code'
So this is another assimilation / 'are you with Shaytaan or r u against us' test.
I don't necessarily agree with the brother's actions, in the context of his duties as a public servant. But he certainly has my respect and deserves community backing and support.
