An Egyptian court handed on Tuesday dead sentences to 14 Islamist militants for involvement in a 2011 attack that killed seven people at a bank and a police station in the Sinai Peninsula, scene of mounting violence near the border with Israel.

They attack Egypt while they are trying to remove taghout.

The "islamists" are attacking a islamist state. Why on earth do we call them islamists? Do we even know what they want? Maybe they are communist guerillia activists or something, they have not done anything "islamic"!

I do not know who you mean by "we" (no offense meant) but in my corner of the world people do not even know the difference between Sunni and Shia.
As far as they are concerned, Islam consists of a bunch of crazy people doing crazy things.

Also, Egypt has only recently declared itself as an Islamic state. I believe it could be better defined as a majority Muslim country, and to the best of my knowledge has yet to implement Sharia.
