Islam began as something strange

I recall this hadeeth every time I encounter a deviant person who finds the Sunnah strange. I recall this hadeeth every time I encounter a misguided fool insulting the mujahideen.

[From Muslim] Book 1, Number 0270: It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira(may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Islam began as something strange, and it would return to being strange, so glad tidings(Tubba - a tree in paradise is for the strangers) for the strangers.
