    Israel hit by suicide attack

An Israeli woman has been killed by a suicide bomber in a shopping centre in the southern Israeli town of Dimona.

A number of Palestinian factions, including the Fatah-affiliated al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, along with the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades and the United Resistance Brigades, have all claimed responsibility for Monday's bombing.

Police said they shot dead a second attacker before he had a chance to detonate his explosives belt.

The attack is the first suicide bombing on Israeli soil in just over a year.

Just hours after the suicide attack, three members of the Popular Resistance Committees were wounded in an Israeli air raid in the Gaza Strip.

In January last year, a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up in a bakery in the Red Sea resort of Eilat, killing three people in the first such attack in nine months.

That attack was claimed by Islamic Jihad and al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

    Responsibility claimed

An al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades statement said it carried out Monday's attack in Dimona jointly with the the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Brigades of United Resistance, a previously unknown group.

Reporting from the scene, David Chater, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Israel, said: "The police have moved people away because they are trying to take the explosive vest off one of the men."

He said Ehud Barak, Israel's defence minister, had visited the scene of the bombing.

Al Jazeera's Ayman Mohyeldin, speaking from Jerusalem, said there had been concerns in Israel that the recent border breach between Gaza and Egypt had made southern Israeli towns more vulnerable to attacks.

But al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed the bombers came from the West Bank and named them as Raji Hassan Al-Kilani and Ayman Ramzi Al-Hadadeen.

Mark Regev, an Israeli government spokesman, said Israeli authorities were "studying the situation and are trying to verify from where the terrorists came".

    'Glorious acts'

In Gaza, Ayman Taha, a Hamas spokesman, rejected suggestions that the bombing will hurt Hamas' chances of reopening Gaza's border with Egypt.

"The suicide bombings were there before the closures and the resistance used every opportunity to make these glorious acts," he told the Associated Press news agency.

"They show the Palestinians can respond to the enemy and their crimes."

Mahmoud Habbash, minister of social affairs in the Ramallah-based Palestinian government, told Al Jazeera that he held Israel responsible for the "violence and escalation".

Jibril Rajoub, a member of Fatah's revolutionary council and a former senior security official, said the only way for Israel to prevent attacks was to make peace with the Palestinians.

He said: "We hope the Israelis will realise that the blockade, killings, raids and what is going on every day in Gaza Strip and the West Bank will not bring them security, peace or stability.

"The alternative to the blockade, bloodshed and violence is peace with the Palestinians."

    Israeli pledge

The Israeli government vowed to "continue to fight terrorism by all necessary means".

"Terror organisations have again shown their true face ... they strike civilian population centres with the intention of killing innocent civilians," Arye Mekel, a foreign ministry spokesman, said.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli troops killed two fighters belonging to Islamic Jihad near the West Bank city of Jenin.

Islamic Jihad announced over loudspeakers that Ahmed Abu Zeid and Imad Zakarneh, its local leaders, were killed in the incident.

This is very sad news. What did this woman do to deserve being killed? Absolutely nothing. These khawarij extremists are a dirty blot on the pure white cloth of Islam.

This shows your gross ignorance of both the nature of the khawarij, as well as politics in occupied Palestine.

    1. The khawarij were known for killing the Muslims, but leaving the people of shirk. The woman killed here was an Israeli Jew, not a Muslim, nor were Muslims targeted. I agree that targeting non-combatants is a violation of the shari'ah, but it isn't a unique attribute of the khawarij.

    2. The khawarij made takfir of and rebelled against the lawful Muslim ruler. The group that claimed responsibility for this attack was the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, which is an off-shoot and loyal to the Fatah political party headed by Palestinian prime minister Mahmoud Abbas.

With this stated, how can these individuals be considered khawarij?

Your comment demonstrates, once again, that you are a mindless parrot of TROID\Spubs and have no idea what it is you are addressing. You speak out of the purest of ignorance.

The fact of the matter is that Mahmood Abbas has himself condemned terrorism and violence. Whether this Al Aqsa group is loyal to Fatah or not is irrelevant, the Palestinian administration has disassociated itself from these kinds of violent terrorist acts, and this is praiseworthy on their part. So whoever is carrying out these attacks has neither justification from the administration nor from Islam. And this is a characteristic of the khawarij that they rebel against the government or administration.

Brother-Mujahid, don't lower your prestige by debating with idiots like Allah Diya. He is a total idiot that is in need of rehab. Pity there are not rehab facilities like the ones in Saudi Arabia for people like him.

All Israeli adults, men and women alike, are combatants as they are conscripted into the army and trained as soldiers. After they complete their regular service they become reservists which means that they can be called for active duty at any time.

[49:6] O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done.

Al-Hasan al-Basri said: “The believer reserves judgement until the matter is proven

Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “Beware of fitnah, for a word at the time of fitnah could be as devastating as the sword

“Verily, your Wali (Protector or Helper) is none other than Allaah, His Messenger, and the believers” [al-Maa’idah 5:55]

“The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion)”[al-Hujuraat 49:10]

Allah diya your way of declaring people khawarij is not suprising since your blind following of certain organisations..my only advise is do not become partisan to one group as this could lead shirk.
