    Latest fatwa from Bassam Zawadi

On November 5, 2009 Major Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire in the Soldier Readiness Center of Fort Hood, On November 5, 2009 Major Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire in the Soldier Readiness Center of Fort Hood, Texas and killed 13 people and wounded approximately 30 others.

There are some who strongly oppose the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who could not help but feel that Nidal did something good. After all, he wasn't some crazed psychopath intending to kill civilians and women and children. Rather, his intention was to kill those soldiers who were going to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan who probably themselves were going to end up killing Muslims or at least play a role in that task. Looking at it from that perspective one might be able to rationalize Nidal's actions and not find them blameworthy.

Despite the temptation to do such a thing, we cannot and should not as Muslims. We are Muslims and that means that we don't derive our moral values from culture, our emotions, our desires, our finite rationality, from a role model we admire, etc. Rather we only judge moral actions in light of what Allah (i.e. Qur'an) and His Messenger (i.e. authentic Sunnah, which was revealed to him by Allah) have to say about the matter. We do not condemn Nidal's actions in order to appease the Americans or the rest of the Western world. We are not here to compromise our beliefs for the sake of political correctness. If Nidal's actions were Islamic then we would absolutely praise it regardless of anyone's opinions. But the fact is that Nidal's actions are in direct opposition to Islamic teachings on so many levels.

It was once said to ‘Abdullah b. Al-Mubârak, “After you have prayed with us you don’t sit with us?” He replied, “I go and sit with the Sahâbah and the Tâbi’în.” We said, “And how can you sit with the Sahâbah and Tâbi’în (when they have all passed away)?” He replied, “I go and read the knowledge I have collected, I find their narrations and deeds. What would I do with you? You sit around backbiting people.”

the leaders of Iraq and Afghanistan welcome US soldiers into their countries to assist them in fighting whom they deem to be corrupt Muslims. This is a valid opinion in Islam, for there are scholars who said that it is permissible for Muslims to ask non-Muslims to help them fight corrupt Muslims.
I guess Bassam must be delighted that so far more than a million such corrupt Muslims have been slaughtered in Iraq alone.

Mashallah, Bassam has gone the whole mile and become a Madkhali.

Anyway, the thing is, to follow his own advice and not take anything from him because he is by no means a qualified mufti anyway. I would be interested to know what the real scholars say about this though, as so far we have not seen anything (which is why people like Bassam get the opportunity to jump in).

By the way - mufti Bassam seems to have got his Fat'h al-Qadeers mixed up.

    No surprise there.

Well, give the sheikh a GreenCard.

And there I was thinking that Amerika invaded those countries and installed their own puppets on the thrones. My bad.

Regardless of Nidal's disagreement with these rulers decision to allow US troops into their land, it is not for him to decide how these rulers should run their country
Are you happy that over a million such corrupt Muslims have been killed in Iraq?

BTW, could someone remind me, I'm a bit confused, wasn't it American invaders that invited these noble Muslim rulers to come rule, not the other way around?
Abu Bakr, as usual you get emotional on these topics like on the issue of Hamas and Gaza and would just end up posting the link on islamic awakening and have people declare me a kaafir. So unless you directly interact with the arguments in the article, don't be surprised if I ignore you.

bro bassam, it would have been better if you had remain silent about this issue because nothing is clear and we are not aware of the whole situation
Bro, what do we need clarification about exactly? The man killed those soldiers. His motives are irrelevant. Us remaining silent implies that we are neutral about the situation, which I am not.

I'm sick of Muslims like Nidal ruining our reputation and I'm sick of Abu Bakr and his islamic awakening takfeeri goons supporting them. Hence, I see no reason to be silent.

I've provided my arguments, I am more than willing to change them, based on evidence and not emotional ranting and personal opinions.

    Have a good day!

I would respond to your arguments, but it's a waste of time... I didn't say anything about the issue of covenants. I commented on the retarded comments that I highlighted.

    Thanks anyways...

Now, enough of the obfuscating, which Muslim ruler invited America to invade Iraq or Afghanistan?

I'm sick of sellouts like you who cheer on every tyrant with Muslim blood on his hands, be it Saddam, Allawi, Nuri Maliki, or Obama.

You know what is amazing. How he does not find time to write fatwas preventing things like this from ever happening in the first place. Like showing how it's not permissble to join the American army.

    as-salamu alaykum

let us not forget that he is still our Muslim brother despite his mistakes. Do we all not make mistakes? He is not a type of brother who would insist on sticking with his mistakes given that confronted with adab and knowledge. To be fair to him, he did say the following:
I've provided my arguments, I am more than willing to change them, based on evidence and not emotional ranting and personal opinions.
By shunning him aside and giving him labels and all that does not make you brothers different from madkhali crew (in my opinion), specially you akhee Abu Bakr (I expect little bit more patience and adab from you unlike rest of us). I do not think any of the scholars have dealt or advise to deal with laypeople in this manner, specially if they are sincere and already upon most of the haqq.

and Allah knows best, just my two cents

May Allah forgive me for speaking anything wrong and bring our hearts closer toward each other, ameen

Re: Latest fatwa from Bassam Zawadi

The reaction of "American Sect" deviant sect to the injustice in the world reminds me of the Soviet time joke.

Reagan accuses Brezhnev of restricting the freedom of speech by saying to him:

"Everyone can come to the White House and shout: 'Reagan is a moron'. Can people in your country do that?"

Brezhnev replies: "Yes, of course. Everyone can come to the Red Square and shout that Reagan is an moron"
Similarly, "American Islam" deviant sect leaders are eager to condemn any perceived injustice committed against American Kuffaar, while not so eager to condemn any real injustice commited BY American Kuffaar.

If that does not define hypocrisy, I do not know what does.
