Muslim Presenter Death Recieves Death Threats
From Sikh listeners of the BBC ASIAN NETWORK
The BBC's Asian Network has become embroiled in a race row after Sikh listeners accused the flagship digital radio station of being insensitive towards their religion.
The BBC was forced to remove a show from its website after Muslim presenter Adil Ray received threats from Sikhs who said he had denigrated one of their religious symbols.
Members of the Sikh community complained that Mr Ray had been disparaging about whether they really needed to carry kirpan daggers.
During the offending August 6 show, Mr Ray was discussing a Punjabi music concert in Canada where police had refused entry to Sikhs wearing kirpans.
The debate was about if Sikh's should be allowed to carry the Kirpan(knife) and if the Concert organisers were right in refusing entrance.
It has been now tranforned into a question of religious freedom and possible mocking of their religious beliefs by the Muslim presenter.
What are your opinions on this?.....and the death threats?

People in general are not allowed to carry scissors in their handbags.
Deeds are your money on the day of judgement , make sure you collect plenty now.
Say (O Muhammad SAW):"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allâh) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner." (Al-Ahqaf 46:9)

Yes that is very true. At my former school we did have a Skih lad who had a Kirpan, it was a small knife which was tucked away under something.
The Sikhs claim that it is a fundamental part of their dress code and that they should be allowed to carry it. A muslim presenter said the same thing that its against the law and also considering the safety of carrying one.
The Sikhs feel that the muslim presenter has also mocked their faith (the kirpan).
This is a question about the Kirpan has been turned from a knife issue into a religious issue.
My general opinion would be that its against the law so Sikhs should be banned from carrying especially children at school.
I understand that many Sikhs will not agree and this would be viewed as being insensitive to their culture and religion.
What are the opinions about this and should be Sikhs be allowed to carry the Kirpan in the countries from where you from?

Such hypocricy and double standards. About time the sad little girl was banned.
