Navy F/A-18D crashes Student pilot, instructor ejected from jet
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Crews continue to search through the rubble after an F/A-18D jet crashed into an apartment complex in Virginia Beach Friday afternoon.
The crash happened just after noon when the aircraft suffered “ catastrophic mechanical malfunction ” shortly after takeoff. Both pilots were forced to eject from the jet, which then crashed into an Apartment building in condensed neighborhood.
What do you think? Anyone have an insight of what really happened vs. what was reported???

That is a crazy story. How much does just ONE of those planes cost? I heard 15-18 million apiece.
