Proposed Haram Expansion esalam elaikum
This is a trailer of the overall proposal to expand Masjid al-Haram. It certainly shows the brilliance of architecture achievement that mankind has reached. Although this is beyond fancy and simplicity of how a masjid should be.

Re: Proposed Haram Expansion I don't like the idea.
It cuts off the 2nd and 3rd floor for Tawaaf making only the ground floor tawaaf able.
That means you'll have 3-4 million ppl trying to squeeze in and make tawaaf on the the ground floor.
I can see it now, deaths by the hundreds....maybe even thousands.I am Adem!....I go Hard!

Re: Proposed Haram Expansion Another drawback are narrow elevated passages to the new proposed area. There should be nothing narrow in the paths.
The design should be simplified by removing all levels except for levels between Safah and Marwah. It should be basically a one giant square of round form with Kaaba in the center w/ some shade providing structures.
The rotating gates are a good adea.

Re: Proposed Haram Expansion Yet another drawback is that the video has music.
Looks like some freshie developers were set loose on the project...---

Re: Proposed Haram Expansion You're good akhee. Spot on! This ain't a dream world. Allaah swt only knows the true nature of the people working behind this project. You'll hear the adhan in movies and even music videos but they want to play some alien soundtrack for a demo of the Kaabah? Right. Speaks for itself.
I hear from employees that some of the head managers of this project are "former Jews," French ones to be exact. And of course the following news sheds some light on the character of company heads who run projects in the Holy City (from another thread on this forum):
