Sufis In Somalia fighting back
Picture of Al-Shabaab
Heavy battle between Al-Shabab group and another religious sector called Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama has in the early hours of Saturday morning taken place at Guri El district in Galgadud region in central Somalia.
“Actually the battle between the two groups has not taken place right inside the town of Guri El, but a village outside the town, and the Al-Shabab forces were overpowered and retreated back into the town, the forces of Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama kept on fighting the Al-Shabab group till they were no where to be found, and now the town is under the control of the religious sector of Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama whichever is a none violent religious group” said Hassan Adan a resident of Guri El speaking to Somaliweyn radio through the wire.
Mr. Hassan also added that he has witnessed the dead bodies of 15 people and 8 wounded who were hit by stray bullets after the fighting groups unexpectedly came into the town fighting.
Yet there are no comments regarding about the damages the warring sides have sustained from the battle.
The religious sector of Ahlu-Suunah Waljama was in the past couple of months campaigning for peace among the Somalis and condemning the acts of the Islamic group of Al-Shabab.
It was yesterday when the Al-Shabab group destroyed graves built of stones in the lower shabelle region including that of a sacred Sheikh Noor Hussein and this act has greatly vexed the Ahlu-Sunnah Waljam group.

Sufi group defeats Al Shabab in central SomaliaAPA-Mogadishu (Somalia) At least ten people have died and more than a dozen injured during heavy clashes between two Somali Islamist groups in the town of Guri- El in central Somalia, where Ahlu Suna Wal Jama’a, a non-militant Islamic group is currently controlling after defeating Al Shabab which is accused of having links with Osama Bin Laden’s Al Qaeda network.
The fighting started early on Saturday morning in the outskirts of the city and then spread into more areas including the city center where the heaviest clashes occurred causing the deaths and injuries of many people, mostly civilians.
Residents and eye witnesses told APA that at least three people were wounded when a stray mortar hit Istarlin General Hospital, the sole health facility in Guri-El.
“The situation is very tense here in Guri-El, the town is now under the control of Ahlu Suna Waljama’a, more Islamist militias can be seen every where and more conflict is imminent at any time” Awil Mahmoud, a resident of the city told APA by telephone.
Sufi Abdullahi Sheikh Abdurahman, secretary for information of Ahlu Suna Waljama’a also claimed that his men have defeated what he referred to as “those who broke Islamic law”, Al Shabab.
“God is great; we are now controlling the town and many areas in the region. We do not want war but will defend ourselves if we are attacked,” said the Sufi.
He said that his group had lost one fighter in the fighting.
However, there is still no word from Al Shabab which has been controlling the town for the past few months.
Al Shabab, currently controls much of southern Somalia.

As Salaamu Alaykum,
The Muslims cannot be destroyed by any outside forces...our destruction can only be from within....
I like how they refer to the 'Ahl Sunnah wa Jama'ah' group as 'non-militant', I guess they repelled ash-Shibab with miswak then.....?
Subhan Allah"Their generosity is impressive, their faces luminous, their voices soft, their manners exquisite. And they have given us the satisfying feeling that we are more important to them than time, or anything else."

Yeah you Dam Sufis do Ethiopia's dirty work.Somali Islamist group of Ahlusunna seized Guriel town in central Somalia after a brief battle with Alshabab fighters on Saturday, residents said.
The Islamist Ahlu sunna seized the town that locates 300 km from Mogadishu.
"It is true that Islamists (Ahlusunna) captured Guriel, Alshabab fighters left from the town, resident man Elmi Hashi told Mareeg by phone.
Latest reports indicate that the fighters seized the town are patrolling the entire streets of the town.
Witnesses said the fighters gave short speeches to people of the town after seizing it from a handful of Somali troops.
"We are not going to harm you and your people so keep calm," they told the people of Guriel.
The situation is reportedly calm as Ethiopian troops are heading to the town from near Balanbal town in Galgadud region.

While Kuffaar were stomping the land of Muslims, they were "non-military", suddenly when the their idols were destroyed, they are "fighting back" the Muslims.
I think the term "hypocracy" has been just redefined.

I'm sure the Madkhalis will be joining up with the Sufis shortly to fight against the Qutbis and khawarij.

Is this confirmed, or could this be (yet another) attempt by kuffar to create dissension amongst the Muslims?DISCLAIMER: Before you read any of my posts or accept any of my arguments, keep in mind that the above has been posted by an ignorant layman who, in most cases, would have been better off keeping silent.

Yes it is confirmed. I was listening to BBC Somali. and they were interviewing some Sufi who who was there. (Abdullahi Sheikh Abdurahman, secretary for information of Ahlu Suna Waljama’a) And his statements were full of lies. He said that the Shabaab are taking the bones out of the graves and selling them to the Jews and Christains. Is this guy serious? And that the Shabaab are making money from selling their bones. The guy questioning him kept on cutting him off. Nothing he said made sense. Just bare lies about the Mujaihdeen. Wallahi someone should translate that interview its tooo funny. He even caught him with some lies.
