Default Taliban shoot woman 9 times in public execution as men cheer

    Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN)
-- A shot rings out, but the burqa-clad woman sitting on the rocky ground does not respond. The man pointing a rifle at her from a few feet away lets loose another round, but still there is no reaction. He fires a third shot, and finally the woman slumps backwards. But the man fires another shot. And another. And another.Nine shots in all.Around him, dozens of men on a hillside cheer: "God is great!"Officials in Afghanistan, where the amateur video was filmed, believe the woman was executed because two Taliban commanders had a dispute over her, according to the governor of the province where the killing took place. Both apparently had some kind of relationship with the woman, said Parwan province governor Abdul Basir Salangi."In order to save face," they accused her of adultery, Salangi said. Then they "faked a court to decide about the fate of this woman and in one hour, they executed the woman," he added. Both Taliban commanders were subsequently killed by a third Taliban commander, Salangi said."We went there to investigate and we are still looking for people who were involved in this brutal act," he said.It is not clear from the video when it was filmed. The killing took place in the village of Qimchok, not far north of the capital Kabul.Lawmaker Fawzia Koofi called it a huge backward step for women's issues in Afghanistan."I think we will have to do something serious about this, we will have to do something as women, but also as human beings," she said. "She didn't even say one word to defend herself."Koofi wept on Saturday as she watched the video of the execution. The United States condemned the killing "in the strongest possible terms," calling it a "cold-blooded murder.""The protection of women's rights is critical around the world, but especially in Afghanistan, where such rights were ignored, attacked and eroded under Taliban rule," the American embassy said in a statement on Sunday. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan also condemned the execution."Let's be clear, this wasn't justice, this was murder, and an atrocity of unspeakable cruelty," ISAF commander Gen. John Allen said in a statement Sunday. "The Taliban's continued brutality toward innocent civilians, particularly women, must be condemned in the strongest terms. There has been too much progress made by too many brave Afghans, especially on the part of women, for this kind of criminal behavior to be tolerated."The public execution is the latest and among the most shocking examples of violence against women in Afghanistan, but it is far from an isolated case.Nearly nine out of 10 women suffer physical, sexual, or psychological violence or forced marriage at least once in their lifetimes, Human Rights Watch said in its 2012 annual report. The country has 14 shelters for abused women, a number which the campaign group says "does not meet even a small fraction of the need."Hundreds of students and teachers at girls' schools in the country have been hospitalized with suspected poisoning this year alone. Girls were forbidden to go to school when the Taliban ruled the country from 1996 to 2001.Salangi, the provincial governor, spoke to CNN about the killing on Sunday, the same day that representatives of more than 80 nations and organizations met to consider pouring billions more aid dollars into the country.U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged delegates including U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton not to demand complex reforms in exchange for the money."Afghan institutions are still in their nascent stages," he said. "The very programs which offer the best hope of sustainability of Afghan institutions should not be held hostage to complex preconditions."Clinton said donors at the conference pledged about $16 billion for Afghanistan over four years. That amount did not include money from the United States because any foreign aid must be approved by Congress.

the American media shamelessly just spreads outright lies these days, not even bothering with half truths. it's stories like these that are keeping the American masses from even wanting to understand Islam, Islamaphobia is becoming bigger threat to the American muslims each day sadly. It would be appreciated if someone could find out what really happened.

Al-Salamu `Alaykum Wa Rahmatu 'Llahi Wa BarakaTuhu,

This report specifically is the pinnacle of everything disgraceful and wrong today.

Filled with bias, shameless allegations, lies, speculations, yellow journalism, misused ethos, and so on...

    Warning: Uncovered Women

May Allah (swt) destroy all these reporters and 'activists' who lie against the Muslims, and fight (with words by lying, false shaming, etc.) alongside the soldiers in the war against Allah (swt), and his servants.

May Allah (swt) protect the Mujahideen (and their honor) from these filthy individuals, and grant them the final victory.

Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah , so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.

Fawzia Koofi's brothers are the biggest drug dealers in Taghar & Badakhshan. Her whole family are a group of criminals.

    Asalaamu Alaikum,

Apart from it being reported by kuffar, the story doesn't make sense when it makes no mention of the man whatsoever. No doubt this is propaganda by Afghan Government/Kuffar.

Akhi, this doesn't prove anything. Remember the whole story is from the Kuffar, and the Munafiqeen - so we should not accept anything from it.

To say that the two commanders have been executed, and to call them rotten apples - means that we are accepting that the execution of that woman was wrong...when this is, in sha allah, not the case - and what happened was the hukm of Allah (swt) carried out against the adulterer.

Who knows, maybe she was an adulterer and so were those other two commanders (adulterers with her) - and the hukm of Allah (swt) was carried out on all three...

But the point is - is that this is all speculation which is shedding an insulting light on the Mujahideen - and we need to avoid commenting on the news with acceptance of anything these Kuffar and Munafiqeen are saying.

What we have right now is that an adulterer was executed. Nothing more, and nothing less.

In sha allah, there should be a response on Bab ul-Islam soon and once we get the official reply by the Mujahideen - then we can see exactly what the deal was.

But for right now, in sha allah, it is as it's apparent - an adulterer was killed for adultery, period. If she died a Muslim (in sha allah), then May Allah (swt) forgive her, and accept her repentance and grant her admission into Jannah.

    BBC propoganda;

The scale of the challenge ahead is shown by a large death toll in several bomb attacks apparently targeting civilians in Kandahar, and new video of the shooting of a woman in a village north of Kabul by local Taliban fighters last week.

Nobody is counting how many women are shot by the Taliban in summary executions for "moral crimes" but there is evidence that they are a frequent occurrence and there is little that the Afghan government is doing to stop them.

A recent Action Aid report found that violence against women is increasing as tension grows ahead of the withdrawal of foreign combat troops - with 87% of those surveyed reporting some level of domestic violence.

In rural villages women are treated as property, and half of the women in jail (and all of the girls in juvenile detention centres) are there for the so-called crime of "running away" - fleeing from an abusive husband - although this is not recognised as a crime in law.

Brothers, why do you say something is propaganda and then still post it? If you think its false and not true then don't spread it!! Just some advice.

Haven't really read the whole article, but probably wont bother anyway's. What have I got to listen from a people who bomb a few foreigners doing jumping jacks claiming T'was a ''terrorist'' training camp, and all the surrounding deaths in the strike zone were also ''militants'' or combatants...

bunch of rubbish, but I'm sure the bigots love this one. - Der izlam radical opresse woman herp derp.
