Hadith About the Quran and Sunnah Dhaeef/Mursal?
Salamu Alaikum.
i have a question the following hadith :
This Hadeeth about the Quran and Sunnah (i.e. “I am leaving you with the book of Allah and my Sunnah''
is it declared: mursal/weak??
Ninowi said: ''Please note, that some people are using an alleged Hadeeth (that I am leaving you with the book of Allah and my Sunnah). Please be advised that this Hadeeth is extremely weak. Moreover, many leading scholars of Hadeeth have declared it as fabricated''.
and if it is Saheeh then how come that Sahih Muslim/Sahih Bukhari didnt collect it because we cant find it anywhere in Sahih Muslim/Sahih Bukhari.?
i heard many scholars declared this hadith weak/mursal?
could someone explain this matter more in detail about this narration?

wa’alaikum as-salaam,
The narration was transmitted by al-Haakim and appears in the Muwatta of Imam Malik rahimahullah.
It was discussed in some detail here and here.

Anyways Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim didnt collect all the sahih hadith in there collections.Actually Imam Bukhari himself said that his niyyah was not to collect all the sahih hadith in the whole wide world. There are other books of hadith which contains sahih hadith which are not present in Bukhari and Muslim.
If somebody argues that the hadith is not in Bukhari and Muslim so it is not sahih is a ignorant person and have no idea of the hadith sciences.

It is Hasan reported by ibn Hazm in al-Ahkaam by the way of Tawr ibn Zayd ad-Dili from Ikrimah from bin Abbas who narrated that Allaah's Messenger addressed the people in the Farewell Hajj and said
"O people! I have left amongst you that which if you cling onto, you will never go astray, The Book of Allaah and my Sunnah."
al-Baihaqi and al-Haakim also reported it. Some may dispute the authority of Ikrimah.
"Sheikh said..." - Wrong path
"Allaah, Rasool said..." - Right path
Don't base your Deen on the popularity of a scholar

If that were the case--as these Rawaafidh dogs and their Shia-leaning lackeys imply--then why wouldn't we Sunnis just dump every other hadeeth book other than the Sahihayn!?
