Hittin Institute?

I recently came across a website for a group named 'Hittin Institute'.

Looking at the website it seems to be exactly the kind of thing Muslims in the UK need in effectively challenging Quilliamites, secularists and modernists. It's precisely these sorts of initiatives that Muslims should promote and support.

Anyone know much about its history or previous activities?

Yes masha'Allah, it's an excellent site. One of the brothers from there is Abu Mujahid, search for "Hittin" on the forums insha'Allah, you'll find some things. Br Abu eeman has his lectures if you're interested.

Yes Hamza Andreas Tzortzis is also part of their team. And Adnan Rashid who is a specialist in Islamic history. Along with Uthman Lateef they are the speakers for Hittin, but they also have a strong and growing support team in the background with some long experience in the Dawah field.

Hamza Tzortzis has officially left HT and is now focusing on research and debate at the Hittin. They have already challanged some high profile people/orgs but people are shying away- remember the recent Bus campaign 'There's probably no God' - well Hittin challanged them to a public 'Proof of God' debate and are waiting confirmation.

Their speakers are also being invited abroad to deliver lectures on Islamic History, the applicability of Shariah today and so on. Think details will be released on their website, which is being updated so will have audio, video etc....They also have a few books being released soon insha'Allah.
