You may be right, but I'm the sort of person who remains very skeptical about retractions extractited from people in prison. There is also a letter from Nasir al-Fahd claiming that he made his "retraction" under coheresion and that he rejected it. I have seen some "experts" claiming that al-Fahd and al-Khalidi weren't sincere in their retractions, but 'Ali al-Khudayr was. I would think the Saudi government also remains skeptical, hence why they remain in prison wa Allaah u'Alim.

As for al-Gama'ah al-Islamiyyah, these guys went through unbelievable torture in Egypt that it broke their minds. It is quite an Orwellian situation with these people in Egypt, it wasn't enough for them to fear the government and claim from coheresion to support it, but it had to sincerely come from the heart. Read the last two lines of George Orwell's 1984 to see what I mean.

Na'am akhee, same with in Syria, and a bit in Jordan. Orwell's 1984 is a good book to read if you want to understand what such governments can do to people.
