Default Should those wanting to accept Islam wait before they are giving Shahada

I was talking to brother, who was thinking about leaving Islam. His greatest fear is that he might be killed by some muslim for leaving Islam.

He was me telling he'd wish that Muslim would have made him wait a year to learn about the religion before and encouraging him to accept it. He said he had no idea that the only way to leave the religion is through death.

Well after thinking about it, I think, Muslims should educate, the wanna be Muslim first before having him take Shahada.

What I see being practiced is Muslim pushing them to take the shahada and then educate them.

    What do you all think???
Ibn Jawzi said, "I have advised both follower and leader in those terms" Colleagues! You are adherents and followers of our madhab. Your greatest Imam is Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, may Allah have mercy on him, who said, under the lash of ordeal, 'How can I say what was never said?' Therefore beware of innovating in his madhab what is not from him!!!."

Hudood is implemented only in a Muslim country by a Muslim ruler...so why should he be concerned about it

I guess this may go back to our responsibilities to new Muslims...

In terms of waiting to take the Shahaha, I would say no, if he is convinced of Islam... If he has certain weaknesses those can be worked on, but if he waits till those weaknesses are dealt with first he may die as a kafir. And dying as a sinning Muslim is a million times better than dying as any kafir.

Then again you would know your friends situation better than us.

    Hi aMuslimForLife,

Your friend should of course leave Islam if he do not want to be muslim any more, that is logic.

As you can see, his dilemma are typical for Islam, as we have discussed in other threads, Islam are a ideology that needs to threat and kill people, to keep people within islam.

Your friend has realized that, and are now struggeling like many other to live a free and bright life withour Islam, and all the stupid old islamic rules that makes life so difficult.

I would strongly recomend that your friend contact this orginasation:

Maby you should consider following him, what do you think?

Anyone who has been shown without a doubt, that Islaam has the answers for everything then does not embrace it will have no excuse on the day of judgement , when they die they will remember all the warnings just when its too late.

    Hi aMuslimForLife,

Here you see again a bright example on how threats are used in Islam, to threaten people not to leave Islam:

    Umm Ahmed:
Anyone who has been shown without a doubt, that Islaam has the answers for everything then does not embrace it will have no excuse on the day of judgment , when they die they will remember all the warnings just when its too late.
But do not listen to that rubbish as you can see, this is just plain islamic threats to frighten you.

These threats means nothing, it is just man-made, there ARE NO JUDGEMENT, don't be afraid at all, they just want to control you

    Peace,

Nobody forced me to become a Muslim and if I wanted to leave, Im free to do so. Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qu'ran........

    Surah 2:256
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things."

    Bismillah

Sadly I have actually seen this happen, they tend to base daw'ah on 'muslim women arn't oppressed' or 'we are peaceful'. So when a non muslim accepts on this basis they think they have found everything out and are comfortable. Unforunatly it can get messy when they realise there is more to islam than the hijab issue. When explaining one issue to a new Muslim he said ' I wanted to be englightend but not that englightend!'. Others I have seen plain outright leave Islaam and become murtadadeen because they think being with the muslims is trendy or part of a new club.

To be fair this is a problem with those giving daw'ah. We should be giving the truth and the whole truth and not just basing dawah upon one concept. There are issues that will interest certain non muslims you can pull their interest through with, but this isn't the be all end all. For example if they are pacifist and you tell them 'Islam is peace' and then they find out about offensive Jihad that persons faith will be shaken and they will be in a real dilema. So I think we should be more thoughtful in giving daw'ah rather than acting as if we are pulling someone into an exculsive club.
'Sorry, but I am not a lowly gangster like you guys. *I'm a professional* !!!!!!!!111111111.

    Hi TN_Cat,

It is great that nobody forced you to become muslim, and I am sure that you are happy being muslim.

The problem is just that if you are born by muslim parrents, in most cases you becomes automatically muslim yourself from childhood, you are never asked if you want to become muslim.
If you then later in life wants to convert to another religion, you will risk killing punishment or ourcasting from the family.
That is the sad nature of islam...

Do you agree that muslims should be free to leave Islam and convert to another religion, if they want so, without any punishment, outcasting from friends or family, in other words, do you agree that the choise of religion is a personal choise that nobody else should interfeer in?
