    Adab Shar'iyyah

    Delivered by Abuz Zubair

    Saturdays 6pm

There is a great importance in learning Adab

Imam Ahmad narrates from Ibn ‘Abbas in his Musnad that the Prophet – SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa-sallam said: “Surely, the good ways and manners, and a sense of balance is a part from twenty-five parts of prophethood.”

Al-Nakha’i would say: “When the predecessors would come to a person to learn from him, they would first observe his manners, his prayers and his condition. Only then they would take knowledge from him.”

‘Umar used to say: “Learn ethics, and then acquire knowledge”

What does the term Adab, or Ethics mean?

The word Adab lexically refers elegance, gracefulness and good treatment.

Ibn Hajar says: Adab is to behave in one’s statements and actions in a praiseworthy manner, while some describe it as adhering to the best of manners.

We will be studying a book by Al-Imam As-Saffarini called Ghitha' Al-Albab Sharh Mandhumat Al-Adab.

This book focuses on Islamic culturing, ethics, morals, manners, values etc.

We encourage you to come and benefit from this important yet undervalued topic

I hope these lectures make their way to youtube so that those of us who cannot attend can benefit.

Abuz Zubair will be studying a book by Al-Imam As-Saffarini called Ghitha' Al-Albab Sharh Mandhumat Al-Adab.
Do you reckon once he finishes studying it, he might be interested in teaching it? ; )

And will there be play-by-play commentary?

"Abuz-Zubair turns the page... He makes a move to the margin... he's easing down the right side... he passes on to the next paragraph... what's this... he's circling around... that must have been a very important point... he HIGHLIGHTED it"

The bro wont understand that, as that's a U.K thang.

Also justabro I can understand how you could have misread the sentence, but how did you manage to misquote it?
“And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: “This is lawful and this is forbidden,” so as to invent lies against Allaah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allaah will never prosper.” [al-Nahl 16:116].

Verily the index finger that testifies to the oneness of Allah in prayer utterly rejects to write even one letter that endorses the rule of the tyrant

I think we need to open a public enquiry.

Perhaps justabro has begun studying with Ali Hasan al-Halabi.

Commentator: His Eminence, Al-Halabi is hovering his pen over the margin- as we speak, and oh, what's this, he is now descending his pen upon the text to the bottom far-left of the page...

MashaAllaah excellent topic of discussion! Look forward to attending inshaAllaah.

Btw akh AZ, do you have plans of gradually working through the entire text, or just specific selections ?

    JazakAllaahu Khayr. :-)
