thank you for such a quick response.
Im quite new in my learning of the deen, i do have a basic understanding of aqeedah.
do you think someone like myself could benefit from this course?

As-salamu alaykum,
One of the great things about this course - which i think is unique - is that it really gets you to look at islamic issues in a methodical manner. It really helps you develop a islamic approach to discussing/thinking about issues.
It genuinely made me realise how haphazard my approach to things were.
To really benefit I think you really need to attend this and all subsequent Sabeel. I believe that Sh.Haitham has developed a long term development programme for the brothers that attend Sabeel. Again something unique to the UK scene.
I think there are a number of IA forumites who have been - maybe they can add their thoughts.

thank you akee
as i noticed its part 2 of a series of courses that seem very beneficial masha Allah
i would like to attend from stage 1 so maybe ill hold out till then insha Allah
-
i went to the first one, masha'allah it was an excellent experience, spending time with sh. haytham is in itself worth going for, hes very down to earth
also you get to meet lots of practising brothers and you spend alot of time with them, the sessions are very interactive so you tend to hold on to the knowledge as its fun being in the class roon
the food is good
definately recommend people to attend
may allah give the sabeel/iprogress team success in the dunya and akhira
Wakee' ibn Jarrah once said, 'The intelligent one is he who understands the ways of Allah, not him who has understood the ways of this world.'

Sabeel is definitely one of the most beneficial courses I've attended. I missed the first retreat but made it to the review of sabeel 1, and that sealed the deal for me, it was too good to miss.
I loved the effort that Shaykh Haitham put into a course intended at building up students of knowledge who think 'intellectually' and systematically. Manhaj Istidlal has to be one of the most fascinating subjects I have ever come across. And of course this is only one stage out of the many which sabeel wishes to cover in order to build strong students, such as Uloom al-Quran, Hadith and tafsir, all of which sabeel will cover in future retreats.
This systematic way of teaching in truly unique for us in the West, as we're just used attending courses on different topics desultorily, thus never optimizing our development in knowledge and spirituality. May Allah reward Shaykh Haitham and the rest of the ustadhs who helped overcome this short-coming o the part of Western aspiring students of knowledge.

id feel alot more comfortable going to the first one rather than jumping straight on to course 2.
Are there plans to do another course 1?
fi aman Allah

I'd e-mail the organisers.
but I seriously wouldn't let the fact that you haven't attended part 1 hinder you from attending.
I guess the frst part intoduced us to the concept of howto derive an islamic ruling:
1. Sources of Knowledge
2. Understanding those Sources
3. Implenting the ruling
This part puts flesh on the concepts.
