Who has the best Safar al-Hawali avatar?
I think the real question:
Who has the best Safar al-Hawali avatar?
With equal parts objectivity and humility, I nominate my own. You see, depending on how you choose to look at this picture, Sh. Safar can be seen as either:
(1) friendly, inviting, soft, even cuddly
or
(2) getting ready to slap some Murji', Ash'ari, or secularist with his backhand. The fact that he seems to be looking down to do so just reflects the strength of his refutations against their heresies has already brought them down to their knees.

Lol, I'd join but I don't wanna put a picture in my avatar. I could probably do like Abu Maryam and just put the name in the avatar...but it's so stretched and looks out of the ordinary.
Or I can secretly join and be your 'man on the outside.'
DISCLAIMER: Before you read any of my posts or accept any of my arguments, keep in mind that the above has been posted by an ignorant sub-layman who, in most cases, would have been better off keeping silent.
would remember Allah much, and would not engage in vain talk, and would elongate his prayer, and would shorten his speeches, and he did not consider himself great enough that he would not walk with the widow, the poor, and the slave until he fulfilled their needs. - #5005, Saheeh al-Jami’ as-Sagheer
Note: I don't check my rep.

My Uncle Safar avatar fits this description
(1) friendly, inviting, soft, even cuddly
اللهم فك قيد أسرانا وأسرى المسلمين

Can i ask, what is the use in doing this? What is being achieved? No attacks please, i'd just like to know why there is a need for this "alliance".
JazaakAllaah khair.
Jaabir (radhi-yallaahu 'anhu) narrated that Allaah's Messenger (sal-Allaahu`alayhe wa sallam) said:
"Do not acquire knowledge in order to compete with the scholars, nor to argue with the ignorant, nor to gain mastery over the gatherings. Since whoever does that, then: The Fire! The Fire!"
