They try and put out the light of Allah with their mouths. However the light of Allah will continue to glow even if the unbelievers hate it.

I am gonna say something but please don't attack me.we care about the smilies and lols in the posts but don't you guys think this type of discussion should not be on general page but rather in the sisters or the brothers section, depending on who is posting. please please again don't take my words as if i'm being arrogant but wallahi i make haya when i'm reading this thread.
I know we shouldn't feel haya when it comes to gaining knowledge you might say but it can be done differently though, don't you think?
i suggest that he get himself a calendar and learn how to count.
Hang on a second - people are making claims here that are either untrue or completely amplified out of proportion.
Best thing to do is get a doctor who is a practising brother (or sister if more appropriate) to go through all the options.
There are SOME hormonal contraceptives that have a slightly higher risk of producing clots - but this is a very very small chance and if it were not then the majority of teenage girls in the UK would get them, in which case they would probably stop licencing them!
Yes I agree the hormonal ones do have some disadvantages associated with them - mainly side effects, but some even have protective functions even against certain types of cancers.
In fact the copper T which is widely utilised in Pakistan has a (slight) risk of causing an ectopic pregnancy, which is potentially life-threatening! But it doesn't mean it happens commonly!
Look - all medications have side effects, but you need to put the statistics in perspective. That's why you need to go to reputable websites or even better, a doctor!
Condoms or diaphragms are good for the obvious reason they don't cause any side effects (unless you're allergic to latex!), and the brother should be open-minded and give them a try (obviously explaining to the sister first of all!) first of all.
I have heard one brother who knows a lot about the Fiqh of Medicine (who is in the field too) say that he advises sisters to go for the injection - as it doesn't expose the aura like the Copper T's and other intrauterine devices do.
Allah knows best.
jazak Allah khairun for all your responses.
firstly i would like to address the brother who feels uncomfortable about this discussion. i understand your point but i havnt seen anyone take the discussion and turn it into something about personal preferences or make a joke out of it. The issue of contraception is an important issue and an islamic issue. One of the reasons i put it on the main thread is because its highly unlikely that brothers will know where to get oral contraception from in pakistan so i was hoping to improve my chances of getting an informative answer.
as for the brother in question he is 18 and his wife to be is 16, he will going to get married and then will leave her after a month. His family are not the type that he can discuss these matters with and he cant talk to the girl either. If he was getting married in the uk i could advise him and direct him to the available options but over there its a different world. Its not haram or even disliked to delay having children so his reasons for not wanting to have kids straight away are valid inshaAllah.
again jazak Allah khairun for your responses.
it owuld be haram if we said oh i use such and such that is too much info.but to try to direct this couple in the right direction because i can say that i had the same problem.my parents did not discuss contraception to me when i was younger so i had no idea how fast you oculd get pregnant i thought it was a chance thing until i ended up with 3 back to back.so i decided looking into the matter for my own health i am say one that i dont use called the nuva ring i use another kind for a health reason but doctores highly recomend this one because it doent effext you badly unless you smoke which we know we shouldnt so in my mind it should be a perfect suggestion allah knows best.and i understand the reasons that they dont have to have kids right away i hope Allah helps them and gives them the right answer.insha Allah,if hse is in this forum i hope she can pm me and i can expalin to her,my aunt is a nurse.so i could help her alot with advice.insha ALlah

jazak Allah khairun but the girl is in pakistan and my friend has already left uk to get married.
assalamu'Alikum,
I think this should be in the brothers zone?
