Easy being Muslim. Hard remaining one in our times.
Assalaam 'alaykum,
I was just thinking, I remember a talk from a da'ee where he said that it was easy to be Muslim but that there were so many things that can nullify someones Eeman. I read on this forum from Abuz Zubair that some Hanafis were of the opinion that whoever mocks the Qu'ran teacher with a stick pretending to hit someone has committed kufr. It makes me think that how many people, even those who are really knowledgable about Islaam say things which make you question things.
I know one Muslim who is regarded and revered by many, and though he is light hearted and makes jokes, he sometiems goes over the top and does things that are questionable. I think that this man knows so much about Islaam and yet does such silly things.
I was also thinking, imagine all those ramadhans that one has done, to be nullified by a few words, someone could be 80 years old and have so many good deeds, and yet one word nullifies it all...
It makes me think that I would happy to have my soul departed from me, even if it had one atoms weight of Imaan i.e being Muslim. In our times, its so hard to remain a person of Eeman and I can see how the carrying the Deen would be like two hot coals.
I can't take no more then 4 wives...Sorry!

William, I've wanted to say this to you for ages...It would be nice if you could write normally rather than use capital letters at the start of every word..it makes ur posts difficult to read..and even makes it take longer for you to write!

Honestly speaking, by the logic and rhetoric that goes around these days...we're all to be deemed kafirs.

Wa 'alaykum usalaam
I was listening to anwar awlakis talk on 25 promises Allaah has made to the believers , he commented saying islaam is easy but its difficult staying on the same path for many years (not exact words) and so we say the dua Ya muqallib al-qulub, thabbit qulubana ‘ala ta’atik. O Turner of the hearts, make our hearts firm in Your obedience.
Deeds are your money on the day of judgement , make sure you collect plenty now.
Say (O Muhammad SAW):"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allâh) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner." (Al-Ahqaf 46:9)

I think that many people have had occasionally some doubts. It´s kinda natural. Even if you commited occasionaly some sins. But important is the fact that you learn from your own mistakes! In this process you can only increase your Iman.

This kind of behaviour depends almost on his age. Young people are usually more easy-going. Certainly he should be more serious as a Muslim but if he is only happy and joyful there is nothing wrong.
You cannot expect the coming generation to make up for the failures of the present one.
