so the qur'aan is clear the only condition is that you deal justly with them.

The people I know are having multiple wives have them in different cities or even different continents. That can give you a clue.

I sometimes think that men, no matter how 'noble' their intention in having more than 1 wife, will still be chewing more than what they can, and ends up leaving the parties hurt.

Most men, i believe, cannot live up to the very core condition of multiple marriages which is to be fair and just to their wives.

this topic always goes inconclusive because we mostly concentrate on behaviour of both men and women than the correct ruling........
you cannot marry a supermodel then expect her to have iman of umm salma. same goes to sisters


intention is the key, if you marry to empower deen whether she's 16 or 64 you are less likely to suffer fitnah. if you follow your desires then blame yourself if you encounter fitnah.

You don't know or can't know if you can deal justly between 2 of them until you try, so I think the standard is 2 wives. lol

I'ma just add here, that has any of you thought that in actuality if you can't handle one, it may be because you are in need of a second one which would balance the enviroment in the household and make you treat your first wife better? Maybe some men just got that need inside after being married to one for quite a bit - Not just wanting to get some extra pleasure on the side or whatever.
