THis is used in most Gulf countries even on new born babies, they think it will make their eyes larger and more beautiful, Allaah U alaam but I think that they have that in their genes anyway. The older generation both men and women use it, but it's less in the younger generation except at weddings ect.

I always thought it must be applied to the waterline.. How else would it help with eyesight etc and other benefits?

On a side note, some of the kohl I've come across has been so gritty and irritated my eyes, it has had big (I mean big as in not fine powdery) lumps in it that irritate.. I'm not sure if that's normal.

They put on babies and toddlers in pakistan as well, looks proper pindu.

I did it once, I thought I looked cool :/ , I was underweight then, all you could see was the eyes. Obviously, not everyone agreed with me, plus it's just not normal for men to do it here.
Even if I put it on at night, its difficult to remove it fully even by the morning, so people notice you got it on.
