What's your problem?

Assalamu'alaykum,
I pray that your all well.
I just wanted to quickly go over this issue, and really just want to hear others view with regards to this topic. The topic is Marriage. Hear me out. Over the last few years, I would say about 3 years back marriage events have become so wide spread that today the most talked about issue in every household i go to is regarding marriage. And how ridiculous our state have become, that we know have 'speed dating' for all kinds of people and these sad organisations promote both parties to dress well as they say 'first impression counts' and oh hear this, 'you can come with a friend if the wali is not available'. Subhanallah, have people become THAT desperate!??


Well, I just want to know is this the case within your vicinity, ie: people always talking about marriage as if its the only thing in the world???

no its not the only thing and speed dating sounds redicolous for muslims and kufar....but the reason marriage is being talked abotu so much (in my opinion) is because so many are failing or have failed that people have questions now.there is so much fitnah for marriages now days it is hard for muslims to be strong,for women not to be jealous that there husband is looking at these naked and despicable kufar women and the music industry.etc. it is hard now the shaytans whispers are stronger in muslim couples because the shaytan wants to break them up.People just want to be successful in there half of iman,marriage is a contract easier to fulfil when you have love and respect for someone and people are forgetting that,you have to respect your spous in order to be respected...i think it is a big issue now

To be honest I do not understand the need of these events. People have been getting married long before these events. I don't know why people do not use the usual methods. But then you get some next level unrealistic waste brothers and sisters who pile one research papers of criteria! THOSE are the ones that usually never get married.

I think if you want to get married you are going to have to make some compromises and be more realistic

Yup, you hit the nail on the head with your answer, brothers and sisters have become soooo picky that if one element is missing from the 'list' then its a no, they forgot that sometimes to be satisfied is to accept that not everyone is perfect.

everyone has faults.you have to accept your own but expect someone else to be perfect? that is crazy.i agree.people need to compromise.some of the best marriages are based on understanding that no one is perfect and accepting faults in others and having patience with them.May Allah help those trying to find spouses.Ameen.And the couples that exist may Allah grant them success and wisdom.
