    Assalamu Alaykum from Ireland

    Assalamu Alaykum

    I will just quickly introduce myself. I am a 27 year old from Ireland and have been a Muslim less than 3 weekssince 24th may).

    I was born a catholic but at about the age of 20 rejected religion and became an atheist. I was actually a quite militant atheist. The reason I began to study Islam (just over one year ago) was out of curiosity but also as I arrogantly believed I would find contradictions and mistakes within it.

    Very quickly it became evident to me that this religion was certainly from Allah and thus began my journy to Islam. I thank Allah for guiding me.

    I am the only Muslim in the area in which I live and the nearest mosque is 50 miles away so alot of what I learn is from books and online - hopefully this forum can help. I have much to learn but I am enjoying every moment of it. My life which seemed at one stage so empty is now complete in that I have found the peupose of life itself - to worship Allah.

    welcome brother. so what dialect of irish do you speak? if dialect is the right term; as in ulster, munster etc?

    I have had endless debates with militant atheists on Facebook and have found them to be the toughest nuts to crack.

    It is very pleasing to discover that one such atheist has joined the family of Islam.
