    Thumbs up JIMAS Conference 2007

    Assalamu Alaikum brothers,

    Just wanted to know who will be attending The Dawah Conference this year in Leicester, organised by Jimas? I want to meet you guys! Place names to faces. I know I'm not that regular a poster, but still, it would be nice to see who the other members are in Person. I already know Abu Zubair, and Abu Umar (the mod), but would also like to know others. If you want, PM me and maybe we can exchange mobile phone numbers Insha'Allah.

    isnt jimas abu muntasir and abu aaliyah and crew? ive seen abu aaliyahs website with a link to zaytuna institute on it so it isnt really that suprising

    Well to the best of my knowledge, Sister Khola Hasan is related to Shaykh Suhaib Hasan, I think she is his daughter - I could be wrong, but I know for definite she is a relative of his.

    How does Jimas justify a woman standing exposed in front of hundreds of non-mahram men, 'speaking'? How does Abu Aliyah justify this through his 'Hanbalism' ?

    You can't really say that it is haram. The sahaabiyat used to interact with the men and even advise them sometimes. I think a balance needs to be reached though. I only think it's necessary say in the case of a detainee's wife describing her 1st-hand experience. If it's a general da'wah talk, why can't the men do it?

    She's not going to be standing exposed in front of hundreds of non mahram men though, she's going to speak from the sisters lecture hall.
