I enjoyed it, not from a pakistani family, and i have no idea what people do. Felt sorry for dumpy, and the geezer with a beard who had a sort of wierd american slur when he got worried. The girl with hijab was really nice. Is that really what happens tho?

They were all Pakistani and each one had a different 'method' in some way or other of finding someone.. so which one is it you're asking about regarding whether it represents most pakistani households? I think it differs from family to family a lot of the time..

SubhanAllah. I want to remind everyone (and myself) that the people in that programme were Muslims and therefore, it's not allowed to backbite them. Constructive critism for the purpose of advising others to not watch this is one thing, but to criticize them for no particular beneficial reason is another.

yeh I cant wait for it either, BUT I suspect the Jews will use this to fully promote their "faith" (or race? lol) even tho no-one can really convert into it (not that anyone would want to) I remember from watching a couple of other shows based on Jews, and Jewish families/customs that they are quite "media savvy" so always put on a good image, there was one on an ex-criminal who lived in Stamford Hill, and all the community were really nice and welcoming to him, and they were going on about forgiveness, charity etc, I just thought, imagine if that was a muslims community, you would find it very easy to find someone willing to backbite and slander the ex-criminal. I think its down to the fact that most Jews are middle class, whilst Muslims are lower down the class ladder hence Muslims lacking experience in interaction with the media.

Allah describes them in the Quran as Donkeys carrying books.. That is sufficient for them wallah.

So far in terms of dawah the christian one was the best ( as in most appealing to the non-muslims ) I think this is mostly down to the editing rather than content tho

Well i was meaning all methods, like ok i know that mums primarily look around, but if you dont have a big network, then would you go to wedding parties like the brother? Dimpy got referrals too, i presume via mum or brother. I am now thinking 'ahhhhhhhhh' big time as i have a bunch of boys who are going to be eligable batchelors in 5 ish years time, am i going to be cilla black?
