That ruddy deppressed me just reading that there are such a depressed bunch of sisters out there.


May Allah keep you all firm on that what is pleasing to Him and grant the sisters righteous husbands.

They are young sisters, they r like 15,16,17 and so one. They see the mistake and fault that those before them have been fallen into.
This is one of the hikmah why Allah dislike divorce, it creates fear for some ppl to get married and they plan to say single.

Exactly cBox, they need Good Role models from both brother and sisters.
Ppl now days are selfish, they dont care about anyone else except themselves. They dont care how they act as long they r fine and feel good who cares about others?? Whatever you do or say it might effect other ppl, that is why the hidden sin is better than the sin that is done openly.
we need to think extremely careful how we behave and say maybe someone els copy you. The prophet was a uswato 7asan, a good example, and we need to be a good example to those that are younger than us, those that will represent islam in future.

I don't think the sisters are the root cause of their own mindset, they do , most of the time, act upon experiences, their own or by hearsay etc. Brothers can sometimes be really cruel to their wifes these days , we don't need to go far away, see the Salafi's multiple marriages/ divorces thread on the forum. I don't support the notion of "never marry/never divorce" either, marriage is a protection of both the male and female Muslims from shaytans trap, no doubt about it. We just need to be more balanced in the approach of each others differences, and in the end of the day, women are more emotional than men and we must take that into consideration instead of mocking them and or calling them horrible and such.

It would be pretty horrible to get into a marriage where the wife is already contemplating/expecting divorce.

I oppose my 'homie' in this case too and I also oppose UmmTaymiyah but what you said was stupid.

This individual deserves a ban for mocking a Muslimah or better , lashing.

1) On a forum level, it's not even close to a banning offence let alone censuring.

2) Where does the Shari'ah sanction lashing for this? You're just being hot-headed and in turn said something stupid. Admit it, it's better for you.

UmmTaymiyah, the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said, 'Marrying women is from my sunnah; whoever turns away from my sunnah is not from me'. The two clauses are not unrelated therefore don't discourage people from turning away from the sunnah of marriage.
As you highlight, there are issues with divorce, but the solution is to change a lot of other things, not abandon a highly recommended sunnah. It might for you, but not on a scale where you'd advise/encourage/convince others on a forum to do so.
