    Default The Angels love her‏

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "Whenever a girl is born, Allah sends Angels to the house who call out: 'O people of this household! As-salaamu 'Alaykum (Peace be upon you).' The Angels then embrace the child and take her into the shelter of their wings, and whilst stroking her head, they say: 'This is a frail being, born from a frail being. Whoever takes care of her, Allah will assist him right up to the Day of Judgement.'" (Majma-Azawaid)

    Default Urinating whilst standing

Aa'ishah (ra) said: "Whoever tells you that the Prophet (saw) used to urinate standing up, do not believe him. He only ever used to urinate sitting down." (Tirmidhi)

Once, the Prophet passed by two graves and said: "They are both being punished for a major sin which could have easily been avoided. One of them did not take care to avoid getting urine on his clothes..." (Bukhari)

It was narrated from ‘Umar, Ibn ‘Umar and Zayd ibn Thaabit (may Allaah be pleased with them) that it is allowed to urinate standing up on the condition that there is no risk of drops of urine splashing onto one’s body or clothes, and that one does not expose one's ‘awrah, because al-Bukhaari and Muslim narrated from Hudhayfah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to a garden belonging to some people, and urinated standing up. There is no contradiction between this and the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), because it is possible that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did that because he was in a place where he was unable to sit down, or he did that to show the people that it is not haraam. This does not contradict the basic principle mentioned by ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) urinated sitting down, because it is Sunnah, it is not something waajib (obligatory) which it is forbidden to go against. And Allaah knows best.

Default The virtues of having a daughter before a son‏

"He (Allah) grants daughters to whomsoever He wills, and He grants sons to whomsoever He wills." (42:49)

Waathilah ibn al-asqa' (رضي الله عنه) said: "Most fortunate and blessed is she who gives birth to a daughter before a son. Have you not heard the words of Allah the Most High where He mentions daughters first 'He grants daughters to whomsoever He wills..?'" (al-Jaami' li-'ahkaam al-Quran by Imaam al-Qurtubi)

Default How similar are some parents of today to those of Jaahiliyah

Allah says: "And when they receive the glad tidings of the birth of a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with suppressed anger." (16:58)
