Wa alaykum salam wa rahmatullah ya akhi

Brother most of us on this forum would regard this sort of thing as a biddah ie a reprehensible innovation in Islam.

We do not regard such things as being permissible in fact we would argue that one would be sinful for engaging in such practices.

Akhi please search the forum to find out about biddah(the defenition in the shariah and the legal ruling) and why its not allowed in Islam.JazakAllah khair

Syed Qutb (ra) when asked to seek pardon from nasser said
Verily the index finger that testifies to the oneness of Allah in prayer utterly rejects to write even one letter that endorses the rule of the tyrant

    Subhan'Allah

Sinful for saying the Salawaat upon the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Salam in a circle.

Remember there is two different types of Biddah, which is Biddah Hasana and Biddah Sayyi'ah. I would take it as Biddah Hasana.

this year in "ghamkhol sharif" they had a mawlid gathering for women in that masjid, it caried on longer than expected so when the time came for the prayer jamaat they told the men to go read somewhere else because the women were still doing mawlid, these people put this so called biddah hasanaah before the obligatory congregational prayer, devaint fools.

I am glad that you posted about gatherings of Ahlus Sunnah scholars , please keep us updated of more gatherings and events by Ahlus Sunnah Scholars.

Magoo, i know that is wrong, but that doesnt invalidate the practise, it is the peoples understanding that is wrong.

Abdullah Abid - what prevents one from introducing a 'bidah Hasana'? Is there any restriction? (I am not validating the concept of bidah hasana).

they do it every year in the same month because this was the month of the prophet (pbuh) birth, they fix it to a specific time, this makes it a bad innovation

    Thumbs down A'udhubillah!!!

    Subhanallah!!!

Now I know why the Ulamaa consider Bid'ah to be worse than Sins. At least a Fasiq who commits Zina will know and accept that what he is doing is wrong and may at least feel guilty about what he's doing. He wouldn't film himself doing Zina and post up on the internet to encourage others to do likewise.

However, this is not the case with Ahl ul-Bid'ah, who think that what they are doing is good and praiseworthy; feel no guilt or remorse about what they are doing, and on top of that film themselves doing Bid'ah and post it on the internet to encourage others to do likewise.

Oh well, let's just be grateful that Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) told us that his Ummah will not unite upon misguidance.

P.S. To all those people advocating "bid'ah hasanah"; this in itself is Bid'ah.

    wa salaamu alaykum.
"If you see someone degrade any of the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) know that he is a Zindeeq. Because the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) was real, what he brought was the truth and all of it was conveyed to us by way of the Sahabah. What those people (heretics) wish to do is cast doubt on the reliability of our narrators in order to invalidate the Qur'an and Sunnah. Thus they are the ones most deserving defamation, they are the Zanaadiqah" - Abu Zur'ah al-Razi

Actually my brother, the practice itself is an innovation.

Tell me one difference between christians' christmas and the innovation of celebrating 'mawlid.' I'm waiting.
DISCLAIMER: Before you read any of my posts or accept any of my arguments, keep in mind that the above has been posted by an ignorant sub-layman who, in most cases, would have been better off keeping silent.

He (صلى الله عليه وسلم) would remember Allah much, and would not engage in vain talk, and would elongate his prayer, and would shorten his speeches, and he did not consider himself great enough that he would not walk with the widow, the poor, and the slave until he fulfilled their needs. - #5005, Saheeh al-Jami’ as-Sagheer

The point being made by the thread starter is that 'good innovation' or 'bidah hasana' is praiseworthy. So, he agrees it to be an innovation already, but he approves of 'good innovation' (rather than bad ones).

My point is, what will stop anyone from inventing a specific form of worship and calling it a 'good innovation'? What are the determining rules?
