I am no fan of hard rock or whatever the word is but I like the lyrics to the above song ... I interpret it religiously (as a lot of people do), as calling on God for guidance/salvation.

I agree, it is a form of worship for them.

Especially when they refer to 'broken wings' and 'fallen angel' as that is what they believe Iblees to be.

They view Iblees to be their master and worship him as we worship Allah subhanahu wa'tala.

I'm not really impressed. These lyrics are pretty typical of the type of radio friendly soccer-mom rock that Nickelback makes (whoever referred to Nickelback as hard rock has a drastically low standard of hardness).

But, if we're going to post rock lyrics we find inspirational I'd like to post these gems from fantasy-oriented heavy metal band "The Sword" (yes, I used to be into metal):

I know that when the members of The Sword wrote it they were thinking about Conan the Barbarian stories, but I can't help but think about the heads of kaafir tyrants mounted on bloody spears while their cities are being laid to waste. Then again, a lot of things make me think of that.
