Ameerul-Mumineen, Abi Hafs Umar ibn Khattab (may Allaah be pleased with him) said that: The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: (The value of) an action depends on the intention behind it. A man will be rewarded only for that he intended. The emigration of one who emigrates for the sake of Allaah and His Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) is for the sake of Allaah and His Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) ; and the emigration of one who emigrates for gaining a worldly advantage or for marrying a woman is for what he has emigrated.

Narrated Salim Abu An-Nadr: The freed slave of 'Umar bin 'Ubaidullah who was 'Umar's clerk: 'Abdullah bin Abi Aufa wrote him (i.e. 'Umar) a letter that contained the following:-- "Once Allah's Apostle (during a holy battle), waited till the sun had declined and then he got up among the people and said, "O people! Do not wish to face the enemy (in a battle) and ask Allah to save you (from calamities) but if you should face the enemy, then be patient and let it be known to you that Paradise is under the shades of swords." He then said,, "O Allah! The Revealer of the (Holy) Book, the Mover of the clouds, and Defeater of Al-Ahzab (i.e. the clans of infidels), defeat them infidels and bestow victory upon us." (Bukhari & Muslim) - (The Arabic Text is taken from Umdat ul-Ahkaam)

Re: Which Hadeeth has you in absolute awe right now? The Messenger (s) said, "On the Day of Judgement, sealed scrolls (of a person) will be brought in front of Allah tabaraka wa ta'ala, and He will say, "Reject this one and accept this one." So the Angels will say, "By Your Honour, we have only seen good (from this person)," and so Allah `azza wa jall will say, "Indeed, this act was done seeking other than My Face and indeed, I do not accept other than that which was done seeking my Face."
[al-Tabarani; Majma' al-Zawai'd; Mukhtasar al-Targhib wal-Tarhib by Ibn Hajr; authentic hadith]"... And the last of their call will be, "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds." [10:10]

Re: Which Hadeeth has you in absolute awe right now? It was narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
On the Day of Resurrection, those who were hale and hearty will wish that their skin had been cut with scissors, when they see the reward of those who were put to trial.
Narrated by at-Tirmidhi, 2402; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in as-Silsilah al-Hadeethah, 2206“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”

Re: Which Hadeeth has you in absolute awe right now? Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 3:573, Narrated Abu Huraira
The Prophet said, "When Allah ordains something on the Heaven the angels beat with their wings in obedience to His Statement which sounds like that of a chain dragged over a rock. His Statement: 'Until when the fear is banished from their hearts, the Angels say, 'What was it that your Lord said?' They reply, 'He has said the Truth. And He is the Most High, The Great.' "
On the authority of Abu Hurairah the Prophet (upon him be peace) said:
"Do good to your parents and your offspring shall do good to you."
Al-Haakim has narrated it and said: "Its chain is Sahih", ["Ghada'a Al-Albaab", 2/439]

Re: Which Hadeeth has you in absolute awe right now? Abu Huraira said, that the Prophet (SAW) said: The Hell complained to her Rabb: O my Rabb! I am eating myself. He allowed her two breaths: One in winter and the other one in summer, and that is why you feel the heat in Summer and the cold in Winter. [Bukhari and Muslim]
ٰ ۚ ۖ ۚ ٰ ۚ ۚ ٰ
Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah , so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.
(Surah at-Tawbah 111 - 111 )

Re: Which Hadeeth has you in absolute awe right now? Nice thread, Jazakallah khayran.
Simply beautiful:
The messenger of Allah (saw) said, "All of my nation will enter paradise except those who refuse." His companions asked, "Who would refuse?" He answered, "Whoever obeys me will enter paradise; whoever disobeys me has refused (to enter paradise)." (Bukhari)"...One of the first concepts I learned in Islam is that of loyalty, of brotherhood – that each Muslim woman is my sister, each man is my brother, and together, we are one large body who must protect each other." - Tarek Mehanna
