    Default Sahih Muslim

    Book 008, Number 3424:
' A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be eupon him) and said: Messengerof Allah, I see on the face of Abu Hudhaifa (signs of disgust) on entering of Salim (who is an ally) into (our house), whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Suckle him. She said: How can I suckle him as he is a grown-up man? Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) smiled and said: I already know that he is a young man 'Amr has made this addition in his narration that he participated in the Battle of Badr and in the narration of Ibn 'Umar (the words are): Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) laughed.

    Book 008, Number 3425:
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hadhaifa, lived with him and his family in their house. She (i. e. the daughter of Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Salim has attained (purbety) as men attain, and he understands what they understand, and he enters our house freely, I, however, perceive that something (rankles) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa, whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said to her: Suckle him and you would become unlawful for him, and (the rankling) which Abu Hudhaifa feels in his heart will disappear. She returned and said: So I suckled him, and what (was there) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa disappeared.

    Book 008, Number 3426:
Ibn Abu Mulaika reported that al-Qasim b. Muhammad b. Abu Bakr had narrated to him that 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Sahla bint Suhail b. 'Amr came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, Salim (the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa) is living with us in our house, and he has attained (puberty) as men attain it and has acquired knowledge (of the sex problems) as men acquire, whereupon he said: Suckle him so that he may become unlawful (in regard to marriage) for you He (Ibn Abu Mulaika) said: I refrained from (narrating this hadith) for a year or so on account of fear. I then met al-Qasim and said to him: You narrated to me a hadith which I did not narrate (to anyone) afterwards. He said: What is that? I informed him, whereupon he said: Narrate it on my authority that 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) had narrated that to me.

Ofcourse it is, even 'Aisha used to use this method in regards to herself, i.e that if a non-mahram man would be a regular visitor, she would tell him to become her suckling brother.
Umm Salamah affirmed the above Hadeeth, but - unlike 'Aisha - believed this to be a special case only applicable to Abu Hudhayfa.
Mind you, the rule is that suckling only takes effect withing the two year period of weaning, as narrated by 'Aisha herself from the Prophet (salallhu 'alayhi wa sallam)
So combining these two would mean: That she believed this to be only applicable in regards to the Household of the Prophet (salallhu 'alayhi wa sallam)

    : { } " "

From Sharh Sahih Muslim by an-Nawawi...

It doesn't say that A'ishah RA '... used to use this method in regards to herself', rather it says that she considered the breast feeding of a man to be as inviolable as that of an infant.

Whereas the majority of the Companions, Tabi'een, and notable Scholars believed that the sanctity of breast feeding is not affirmed for those over 2 years of age, and some said 3 years of age, and that Abu Huthayfah was the only exception for this rule. The rest of the wives of the Prophet SAWS differed with A'ishah RA in this, and Allah knows best.

Dhul Qarnain, why did you say that Umm al-Mu'mineen 'used to use this method'?

    What other examples are there?

"Sahla bint Suhayl who was the wife of Abu Hudhayfa, and one of the tribe of Amr ibn Luayy, came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, 'Messenger of Allah! We think of Salim as a son and he comes in to see me while I am uncovered. We only have one room, so what do you think about the situation?' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Give him five drinks of your milk and he will be mahram by it.' She then saw him as a foster son. A'isha umm al-muminin took that as a precedent for whatever men she wanted to be able to come to see her. She ordered her sister, Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr as-Siddiq and the daughters of her brother to give milk to whichever men she wanted to be able to come in to see her. The rest of the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, refused to let anyone come in to them by such nursing. They said, 'No! By Allah! We think that what the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered Sahla bint Suhayl to do was only an indulgence concerning the nursing of Salim alone. No! By Allah! No one will come in upon us by such nursing!'
"This is what the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, thought about the suckling of an older person."

Off-topic: I didn't know that 'Umar had a daughter named Fatima.
Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Safiyya bint Abi Ubayd told him that Hafsa, umm al-muminin, sent Asim ibn Abdullah ibn Sad to her sister Fatima bint Umar ibn al-Khattab for her to suckle him ten times so that he could come in to see her. She did it, so he used to come in to see her. (Previous section of same chapter)

Any reliable info on her (e.g when she was born)

Thank you brother, I see now...

By the way, really strange, I couldn't find anything about this in al-Muntaqaa by al-Baji; I did however find some explanation in at-Tamhid:

'...And A'ishah RA did that with Saalim bin Abd Allah bin Umar, and she ordered Umm Kulthum, thus she gave him breast milk, however the full number of feedings was not completed and thus (Saalim bin Abd Allah) would not enter upon (A'ishah RA).'

I know it says that A'ishah RA would do this, however I want to know of a specific example where it is confirmed that she did this and someone actually entered upon her. It's one thing to say that it is permissible, and to say so on authority of the example of the Prophet SAWS, however it is another thing to actually do this and have a specific example of it.

    Edit:

Also let's keep in mind first and foremost, as is reported in at-Tamhid as well:

'...And as such the giving of breast milk to the adult is like what is mentioned- the milk is given to him and he drinks it, and as for his coming into contact with the woman, her breasts, just like an infant, then no, because that is not permissible according to the majority of the Ulamaa'...'

As long as that is understood, then I don't see why anyone should have a problem with this, and of course the Rawafidh can choke on their rage and fury at the esteem and honor with which we hold the Ijtihaad of our Mother A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her...

Umm Fatima, just so that it's clear for your perverted Rafidi mind, this does not involve direct suckling from the breast. The milk is to be pumped out and given to the man.

"One of the greatest distinctions of the Salaf was indicated by ibn al-Haaj when he said words to the effect, 'In the days of the Salaf, when the masses would introduce an innovation, the scholars would take it upon themselves to expose its falsehood. As for the scholars of the Khalaf, you will find that when someone from the masses, the rulers, or the wealthy introduce an innovation, the scholars would take it upon themselves to encourage it, defend it and justify it.'

I say: he spoke most truthfully. If any of our rulers or wealthy people would like, then let him try to introduce some innovation, and then seek help from the scholars and the ascetics. He will find them rushing as fast as they can to encourage it and to distort the Book and Sunnah in order to beautify it, and to declare any who would rebut it a heretic or disbeliever, and perhaps the most pious of them is the one who takes it upon himself to remain silent. Truly, to Allah we belong and to Him we will return!" [Sh. Abd al-Rahman b. Yahya al-Mu'allimi, Kitab al-Ibadah (pp. 210-211)]
